It's... Advenging time!

Hello, people!
In the beginning I hoped that this Pammies Advenger was a game about the Avengers...well it isn't but I was expecting that because insaneraving is author of a game that takes inspiration fromn I Am Legend and another from Supersonatural... anyway this is a 100% original story. Or should I probably say a 100% original "game" or "setting" since there is not a lot of story here, in any case it's ok since this is just a demo, made with RPGmaker 2003 and released in 2011.

Oh and the cool thing is that there is also a RTP package that NOT ONLY contains the fine needed for this game, but ALSO the missing files from "I am ledgend", that I reviewed some time ago!!!. Oh, so I didn't had to make the custom files to replace the missing ones (from the title screen to the charsets and facesets!). Well, too late I guess! Anyway these files seems to include also the ones for Supernatural, so better keep them, then!

Besides fighting enemies we also have to chop down trees for... fun and profit? Well, not at all, we must do that just to go on with the story!

The game does not have a story: we start as Pammie, a girl with a sword that has to kill a slime to let us know how this action game in real time works. Oh yes, forget turn based and ATB battles, here we have to press the action button WHILE crashing into the enemies. Yes, just pressing it when standing near them is not enough, luckily we have an infinite supply of healing potions (used pressing the Shift key) that will help us survive, but we'll also extra health bars inside some chests.

Apparently for some reason our aim is to reach the castle and talk to the king, but there will be some roadblocks like rocks in the middle of the road and a collapsed bridge that will have to rebuild. So Pammies will have to help people and defeat enemies, but the sword is not enough and it will be necessary to find an axe, a shield and some jump wings, but their use is more or less (because for example the jump wings will make us jump on the next tile) the same.
There isn't much more to say, slimes and demons behave in the same manner, skeletons are identical except that they're immune to sword and axe attacks, but that's it. The game is also extremely easy due to the infinite quantity of healing items, but the way in which we can change the equipped items is a bit clunky since it requires to enter the inventory and teleport to a special room.
Uhm ok, at least we can save anytime!

Visually the game is nothing special, a classic RTP game with few additions like custom made characters and facesets (beside Pammie, that's an original charater, you can also find one of the characters from Supernatural and some card-soldiers that seems to be inspired by Alice in Wonderland) but mapping is unfortunately pretty bad, people are static, interactions are limited and dialogues are filled with typos and errors. Unfortunately there is also little concerning sounds and absolutely no music during the game (except for the title screen, but that's not "the game"!)

Ok this is the last dialogue of the game, after this part you'll soon be stuck inside a map because this is a demo!

Final Verdict
Pammies Advenger is a very meh experience. This is not one of the demos I played and I wish it was completed, so I cannot really complain if it was abandoned. The idea may have been interesting, but I know from experience that rpgmaker 2000/2003 games with real-time battles are never really good, and this is another proof of this. That's it, if you want play it but I cannot really recommend playing this demo.
