I hope you decide to do something different with the battle system. I haven't played the game, obviously, but right off the bat I personally think this type of fighting is not a "duel" at all. It looks extremely boring and tedious. Oh, great, turn based battles with one character! Lame. I know how limiting RPG Maker can be on your ideas, and I can automatically tell from experience that this type of idea would not work with any of the button mashing nonsense ABS. However, you need something, something good. Something that makes me feel like I'm really dueling this badass mage. I just think using this kind of fighting, for this kind of game will really hinder it. I've been reading a lot of your posts, in the game design section and elsewhere, so I figured I'd try an assist somehow. It just seems like you're selling it short. You have an excellent idea, now all that remains is to execute it, excellently. Good luck, Max.

This post and your entire attitude in it *really* pissed me off A LOT but I'm going to try and be civil in spite of that.

Could you maybe...play the game before judging? Is that really such a foreign concept to people around these parts? I'm sorry, but I really can't be bothered by the fact that you are intent on judging a book by its cover, or by your bizarre hated of turn-based battle systems which can certainly be just as thrilling as anything else. I don't know if you've been spoiled on them by "every game is exactly the same" Final Fantasy clones or by shitty RM DBS games or what, but just because turn-based is often done badly doesn't mean it can't be done well or that it won't work for this.

The battles in this game have been/are/will be spectacular. There's certainly work left to be done, for who could deny that? But not the work of altering the battle system. Except for one "small" tweak I plan on releasing tomorrow, I mean, that will make things a lot more visually dynamic.

It's not turn-based, it's Press Turn-based, which makes for a huge difference.

I think it succeeds as a duel simulator ;>
