Super RMN Bros. is a collaborative community project where members of the rpgmaker.net website use the Super Mario Bros. X engine to create Mario levels. These stages are refined and compiled into one big game at the end of the event. This is the third installment in the series, and the first to be managed by halibabica. The game mimics the physics of the Mario games of yore; specifically Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World.

The game requires SMBX to run. This website does not provide illicit programs; we only condone their use. Google is your friend. When you've obtained the engine itself, unzip this game's download into SMBX's 'Worlds' folder. Run SMBX, click 'Start Game', and you're ready to play!

The Plot: Mario, Luigi, Toad, Peach, and Link have stumbled into RMN's Pit of Challenges, where they must gather stars from the worlds created by our users if they ever hope to escape. With 110 levels to explore and 150 stars to find, they have their work cut out for them!

Ready for Download!

After nearly three and a half months, this thing's ready and available to play!

The main download is the normal version of the game. It has star requirements for higher worlds, mini-boss, and boss levels. The extra 'unlocked' download removes all star requirements except those for the final level and leaving the pit.

Have fun!

I just had an idea and a request.

I'd like to "Remake" every single level in this pack (Barring the ones that are good) and compile it into a seperate game called
Super RMN Bros 3 : 2

By remake, I mean "Edit" the levels with the same theme, only executed better. This definitely include my Dr Toadly levels and Partners in Prime.

So if you have ideas or requests, tell me!

If you have an objection, I'll trashcan this idea.
Of course before I get to work I'll need the permission of every goddamn one of you!

Or if you don't want ME to fix them and instead you yourself, I'm all for it. Just throwing around some ideas.
Spinning Hazard can't be improved. It can only be made more

(Go hog wild with my level!)

This is what ShortStar tried to do to SRB2 when he pre-released his version of it. People were pretty miffed about that.

Personally, this game is a lost cause to me, and even improving the stage design wouldn't help its overwhelming length. I'd just let it go.

yes, but that was a PRE-release.

This is a POST-release!

Besides, I still don't think this game is extremely lengthy.

You poor bastard.

If you get enough permissions and you really think it'd be worth it, I guess you may do so. I'd rather be in charge of improving my own stages, though.

Isn't that what All-Stars achieved? Honestly some of the levels here are barely even salvageable (Watch that first Step and Stop the Clock, for instance), so I say you just move on.

Have you played this recently? Granted, the game's many long and terrible levels tend to make it feel like it takes forever to beat it.

Well, then I guess I'll have to make the long and terrible levels medium and good levels!

It's not a bad idea but it defeats the object of making another RMN bros/world if your just gonna remake the last one you made
If your gonna make it an event, it's got to fit in with the next rmn event.

Now that I think about it, that's not a bad idea, make it an event with two weeks of joining period, only members who originally took part can join (if that's possible, which I doubt, in of which case that dosen't matter anyway.) And the people who made their levels can remake them, people who didn't join for any reason (didn't know, thought it was a bad idea, is a miserable sod) can have their levels passed onto someone who wants to remake it (with permission of course), remove any level that no-one wants or the owner has not given us permission (Stop the clock and crap like that) am I wasting my time here?

As a note, I would like to fix my levels, i got me a new monitor for my old XP computer, which means i'm back in the game (editor)
Besides, haven't you all wanted to rewrite the history of the dreadful day we released it (probably not but I did)

Ehhh I don't know how this is going to work out. Not only do you have the issues of the one-timers who probably won't go back to fix their levels anyway, there are also plenty of levels that honestly can't be made to something good without starting from scratch (like Stop the Clock, for instance).

If you really want to go ahead with this, though, I recommend the following:

  • You get a handful of people to do judging, so that crap doesn't get past the radar.
  • You come up with a list of levels that can stay, or have updated stuff in them (like in All-Stars) so that we won't have to bother with them.
  • We create guidelines to keep our levels consistent. Bad levels wasn't the only issue with RMNBros.3, its that every level went with different styles (some had dragon coins, some didn't; or some levels had no checkpoints while others did.
  • In addition to consistency guidelines, we need to get things right with secret stars as well. That was something that pissed people off in this game, and sometimes their inclusion in levels were needless. There should definitely be no more than 1 secret star per level, as a starter.
  • Does EVERY level need to be remade? IMO some of them just revolve around bad ideas (like Watch that First Step or the half-assed Wooden World chasing wall thing) and we'd be better off without too many levels in general. I say we keep the level could much lower by comparison.

In addition, 2 weeks to address the massive amount of problems with this game will definitely not be enough, at least in my eyes.
I don't care if you want to alter my levels, Seiromem. Be my guest.
My brother Tomstar says he doesn't mind (you might wanna keep that arena battle of his)
I just downloaded the game. The number of downloads was 1337! So, I'm expected this game to be 1337.

You will be disappointed. Sorely.

Alternatively, go play the sequel, or the even better second sequel.

It was alright from what I've played. I almost got the first room done and the tutorial, but I am going to go ahead do the second sequel.
