Hello!
This is probably the shortest game I have ever played!
The story starts in a bar, the gameplay takes place in the city streets and the ending at a fake pizza restaurant.
That's all, really, this is a mini game about a group of dumb friends, I won't spoil the story since it is quite short, but I guess this is because it was made in a really short time for some kind of event or other reasons.
This game isn't terrible but looks like a demo or just an episode of a larger game: mapping isn't horrible, charsets aren't terrible, and music is ok, but it's quite bare bones: he meat of the game are the dialogues, BUT there's also combat!
To reach the pizza restaurant you have two choices: wander the streets and fight a ton of random encounters, buying consumables from the merchants, or talk directly to the girl near the first part of the map, that will istantly take you to the ending (or after a while, if you're bored of fighting random enemies).
Bad guys appear!!!
Combat isn't terrible too. Characters have various skills, attacks and healing powers, that have in some cases funny names or descriptions. But they work, and consider that there are no experience levels, so there is no way to improve the characters or learn other skills. You earn money to buy healing items and consumables, and that's all.
The story... well it iw very short, it's a humorous silly adventure of a group of friends, there are jokes and puns that you may or may not like. That's more or less all, I think!
The plot? Well it's this!
Oh, I forgot to say that It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia it's one of the longest American sitcoms (starring Danny Devito among others, that you can see on the menu screen but it's not present in the game). It's about this "gang" of friends who run the Irish bar Paddy's Pub in South Philadelphia, and in this game se play as them (of course). Unfortunately I have never seen it, so I cannot say how is compared to the game and tell if it is faithful to the source material or not.
Final Verdict
This is a very little game but it's not a terrible experience. Clearly there's little to do besides boring combat encounters, but at least the difficulty and abilities are balanced, music is pleasant and the charsets edits are decent. Maybe the fans of the sitcom can appreciate this more than me, but this does not change the fact that this is surely one of the shortest games ever made. Sooo I cannot go over 2/5 sorry.
