So here I am trying to garner up interest in COH, and not a lot seems to be happening. What gets people's attention? What am I missing, here?

Let me know please.

In other news, I'm about a third of the way to having a playable demo up for grabs. By that, I mean that the demo has about 3 parts, and I've finished the third part. should be 2-3 hours worth of gameplay and will see you using two major characters.

Til then, here's a picture featuring onomatopoeia:

Enjoy.

Probably the easiest way to get attention--not just at RMN--is by making something that is visually compelling and different from everything else. Interesting gameplay mechanics and content (level design, story, etc) don't translate well into screenshots, which is the most bite-sized but effective way to communicate your game until you have a playable product. For me the largest subscriber gains came at three moments: initial posting of screenshots, battle system demo, and a normal demo. If what you've created stands out as unique you can get a feature slot on the RMN front page which will help bring an audience.
Thanks mate, I'm gonna have to look at that.
Also, I should clarify. I've finished the first part of what I consider to be a 3 part demo.
Another good way to get noticed is to involve yourself with the community. Go to the forums and share your opinions and learn from others in the various topics about game design, reach out to people and try to help them in any way you can, play their games and give them feedback... Eventually some of that will come your way.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

If you're looking to show off anything other than the graphics, a video trailer would certainly work better than screenshots. Keep it short - maybe two to three minutes - and people will watch it.

It might be good to have a longer video also that shows the game in more depth, for people who see the short trailer and are somewhat interested but aren't sold yet.

If you just don't know how/where to advertise, I'm not gonna be much help. I don't know either.

Actually, that's really helpful. Thanks.

That's one I hadn't considered. Cheers, mate.
Original Graphics and picking fights seem to get people's attention.

Haha, pity that I don't have the skills for the first one, or the guts for the second.
