Played this last night.
Case 3 is a substantial improvement on the last two cases in my opinion, though I'm not sure I can articulate why. Maybe just because we start to see the plot threads started in the first two acts start to pay off.
I appreciate how the first case has been streamlined substantially, a lot less wandering around early on, getting the player to the meat of the game quicker. The new intro gets things moving a lot better than the old one (the cold open reminded me very much of MotW). The city looks a lot better now too.
I think the boss of Case 3 was the best so far, the first two boss fights took place in absolutely enormous rooms where it was easy to hide. The third one was in a smaller locale and it forces you to actually make at least some effort to stay away from him. I still feel like the fight with Clyde drags, maybe just because he spends most of the fight actively staying away from you.
Still want to strangle Eddie. I don't want to say his constant suicide attempts are insensitive since I get the impression that they are very genuine and perhaps even true to life, but I'm not sure how to explain it. It's just very hard to watch, and not in a good way. Still feel like his inner conflicts don't resonate with his surroundings. Everyone likes the guy! If a lot of people you talked to were like "Oh yeah, I remember you, you're one of those guys," which Eddie hates, I could at least see why he was down on himself.

I think with depression even if everyone likes you, you still feel a sense of what Eddie's feeling! Or at least that's how I was reading. Maybe it'll play out slowly and Eddie will learn to work with it better.
Thanks for playing this again, Solitayre. I'm glad you found most of the updates worthwhile. I don't want to regurgitate previous conversations we've had about Eddie, but it was interesting to note as I was working on the third case I realized that Eddie is something of an extrovert. This was not something I had planned, it kind of happened organically. But it makes sense, despite his self-loathing he generally likes people and is good at dealing with them (most of the time). I think it also demonstrates that he has a strong support system, which is doing more good for him than he likely realizes. I hope that the second half of the game paints enough of a complete picture that you'll find him more relateable.

Maybe, but I kind of feel like there'd have to be at least some truth to what he's saying. Even if the people who don't like him are an obvious minority and the majority of people around him like the guy, he might choose to focus on what negative things people have to say instead of positives. Right now the only person who obviously doesn't like him is the police chief, who Eddie hates and believes is corrupt anyway.
