These doors are not the ones that should be used here as they're more suited for a interior use, but only not against the wall, at least in my opinion. Also, this village doesn't seem to be destroyed by monsters, but fire, but even so, the hedge would need to be on fire fire as well. Smoke at places were fire once was would also be appropiate.
Thanks, I changed the doors. I agree the hedge needs to look more damaged. I'll look into it.

I would raise the height of the hedge by 1 square to make it appear more like a wall. Also, I would raise the height of the house(s)'s walls as well: single-height houses are good for RPGs which aim to mimic the S/NES era of gaming where town where very small areas and the height of buildings was very small. But these are just my opinions and I can't really provide a good advice without seeing a larger part of the map.
Actually, I say to leave the height of the houses. Smaller is fine. That door though... :\ It's a gate.

This shows signs of improvement. This screenshot's mapping, to me, is borderline for inclusion. If you keep building off this, you'll soon get to where the player wants your mapping to be! (And you as well, I'm sure.)
Thanks, I'll try to keep at least this level of mapping up. Mapping is the part of making games I like the least, but it gets more fun the more you do it, it seems.
