Not to long ago I posted my noobish review of The Way EP 1. I favored the story over the actual gameplay. One of my complaints was the length as well...
Story:
Like I said I favored the story over the gameplay in the original and I expected the same out of this one. The story was absolutly amazing. I could not stop playing the game until I was done. The story takes off right where the first one left off. One bad thing about the story in the original was that I had absolutly no idea what The Way was. The beggining narration by Trazium says it all. There were pretty funny moments in the game but none as funny as in the first. But it was absolutly epic in a subtle way. You'll see what I mean as the story of Rhue unfolds as you play. There is also a twist I did NOT see comming.
Charactors:
All the charactors were pretty top notch. I especilly enjoyed some of the new charactors. I won't describe them completly since they are some of my favorite charactors in an rpg maker game. Rhue and Trazium are very deep charactors and an episode can be made about each of their pasts seperatly.
Gameplay:
This was where I started bashing The Way in my first review. Actually the duels (plunging) were very fun. In the original I bashed it for being to difficult but I realised that you were supposed to lose them. You don't start winning until this game. The regular battles were very fun in my personal opinion.
Graphics:
The still life backrounds are taken down a bit in favor of a more RTP approach. I found these very more intriuging then the still lifes. I didn't like the graphics very much to be quick about it.
Map:
The maps were very well designed in this one. The more free roaming part of the map is after you leave the first settlement in this episode. It was very fun exploring that 'stretch'. Overall the maps were pretty damn good.
Bad things:
I couldn't figure out where to put these extra additions. One part that pissed me off alot was in the Monster Den. It was all about timing and if you were killed you had to go to the very beggining of that part in the Monster Den. Something similar is when you keep getting killed by the bird monster and you had to remember where to go to avoid it. While you're playing it, you will die repeatedly, and then black out, your computer will be destroyed.
Overall:
Some annoying parts bring it down but overall this is a big improvement over the original. Also the length has been improved alot.

@Deacon Batista:
No wai, u fail. I thought wandering around and exploring Estrana was really fun. Don't get me wrong, I also loved episode 5, however 4 had a nice mix of comedy, suspense and tragedy. Episode 5 is pretty much dark the whole way through. It was the episode that first got me into the series. Also, Lexus <3.
@lepachaun:
It has been a while since I last played it, but I think there may be some kind of switch/lever that controls the currents somewhere.
