Second part watched!
That was a treat. Both reliving that clunky ass story, and suffering through the broken battle system with ya.

In retrospect, we had a short timeframe, my friend and I, to make this happen. If I could go back, I'd expand the team and give someone else the battle system. The idea of babysitting an NPC combat buddy was the extent of my thinking, and it worked for the time constraints. However, I personally suck at balancing, and the status effect system/charging etc were crippling and poorly executed. If I could do this over again; A) make the NPCs, playable. B) skip this whole project and make something better lmao
At least the combat system isn't so broken that it makes the game impossible to complete or forces the player to rely on cheap, luck-based tactics.

Probably one of the most obvious examples of this that's still easily accessible is "Nociel (After story)" by Wishiyo where all of the bosses are so powerful you'll be forced to try and endlessly stun lock them with leg sweeps if you want to win.

Unfortunately one of the best examples of an impossible to beat game I can think of is some of the stuff that was put out by RedWall10 over the years where magic spells ignored the player's resistance stat and would allow enemy mages to tear through the player like they were made out of wet paper. And some of the fights in his games would force the player to confront multiple mages that can cast powerful group spells at the same time. And he'd always mess with the level curve to give everyone a super slow growth rate like Dratini in Pokemon. So you'd need to devote hours of your life to grinding in order to beat his games. And usually the most efficient way to earn experience in his games was doing utterly mindless tasks like baking thousands of cakes in a process that just required the player to endless tap the z key.
