One of my favorite bits about working on Joy Eaters is putting together the soundtrack, because it means I get to force people to listen to music I think is cool.

Throughout the whole game, interacting with your teammates and performing quests for citizens on the island will unlock new tracks that you can play from your inventory. All of your teammates and the islanders have different tastes, so you end up with a nice mix of everything from Hip-Hop to Ska to Electronica to Metal, which means that, in a way, you can make the game's soundtrack whatever you want!

The current plan is for the game to include about 80 different tracks, which I know is ridiculous and means that the audio file will need to be a separate download (possibly two), but I truly do feel the music adds a lot to the game, and I will not be dissuaded!

All of the music I'm using is available for free from Jamendo.com, a site where independent artists release music into the creative commons, as I wanted to give exposure to some less-than-famous artists (I'm a bit of a hipster asshole, but I try to hide it,) and to avoid any licensed music. Big Dave can't afford another lawsuit.

The complete game will be released with a list of all the music credits, but here's a few of the artists making appearances. Some of them are no longer active, but a lot of them are still making music, so give them support, and give 'em all a listen!
