Progress Report

Quick Development Note

Hey all,

Just a quick note that I've started work on the second dungeon/town set. Probably be a while, but progress is being made. And as far as bugfixes/changes to the first dungeon/town set go, here's what I currently have planned:

  • Cutting the mage type monsters MTK values by quite a bit -- noticed that since they use the same skills as the PCs, the calculations work in their favor quite a bit more than I'd intended. This should make the the midboss less roulette like (I'll also take out its group wind magic) and ease some pressure off the boss and the last mob pack.
  • Dying will now take you back to the last place you saved at; I probably should have set up this behavior first, but I felt the other way would work better than it did.

There won't be any changes as far as NPCs and buildings go with this next one; I plan on adding most of the flavor type stuff when I do a polishing pass at the end of the first chapter.

First "Demo" Release

Hey everybody,

This is MB with the first blog update for the game commemorating the release of the game's first demo/submission for the TT RPG Contest. Not much to say about the development process so far, other than everything taking twice as long as I think it should, but this'll serve as a quick rundown of current game mechanics.

Dying doesn't set you back. If you lose a fight, you start back where you were, at 1 HP. Boss fights will start you back at the beginning of the arena so to reset the event.
You can travel back to the last town/church you saved at using the Egress Rosary in your inventory. You can't use it in battle (but you can run from every fight, including boss ones) however.
The boss is tuned to be beatable at level 3 with a bit of wiggle-room as long as you've paid attention to the hints in the way the end encounters are structured.
Speaking of levels, the dungeon is tuned to get you halfway to level 4 just by clearing everything normally. The boss will be easier at level 4 with the extra stats and abilities gained, and will be made quite easy at level 5 with the other abilities Hans and Emilia will learn at that level.

That should cover most of what's available currently, and thanks for viewing/playing!
