Demo Revised, read!

I re-released the demo. It'll be available for download as soon as the RMN admins approve. This time around though, I put up two separate downloads, one with the RTP files needed, and one without. Makes life easier for some of y'all out there.

This re-release of the demo fixes alot of things that were bothering me. The previous release was rushed a bit in order to comply with RS!VII, but now that it's been a few weeks, I decided to trim it up a bit. Revised a good portion of the dialogue, completely re-evaluated the difficulty and balancing, changed a few mechanics, even added a new dungeon at the end. So, if you've already downloaded this game, download it again today! It has changed significantly.

Darksteel Demo #1 released!

After a long absence, I'm back and working on this project. This story is burning my brain and must be conveyed somehow. Please, download the first demo, released today 6/22/09 (a late-comer for RSvii), and let me know what you think!

Story development!

Making good progress on the story, which will ultimately determine what direction this game goes. Wrote a brief history of the Spiritual Realm and the Physical Realm.

Decided that I'd like the player to be able to explore both worlds. Will try to implement some sort of method of going between realms.

Anyway, getting really excited about where this is going. This game is loosely based around the concept of a very old game I made, "Silenced Breakthrough". It takes place about 2000 years after that game, though.

Progress!

So, I've created a much more solid intro. I think I still need to expand upon it a bit more, but I'll deal with that later.

Did alot of tweaking to the difficulty of monsters and stuff. Really tough to manage it all.. but it's coming along nicely.

Added a new feature for Ezra (main character). He now has 'Aggressive' and 'Defensive' stances. You can switch between the two inside or outside of battle. Depending on your gear makeup, you might want to stick with one or the other!

Jumping is now just a regular move that can only be used in certain areas (No longer requires an accessory to perform).

And that about wraps it up... game has at least a good 30 mins of gameplay so far (and that's assuming you play like me, knowing all the puzzles, dungeon layouts, and enemy strategies).

going to try and update this shit daily.

Did alot of hard thinking about where I want this game to go. Like, for real.

Game plays at about 16 minutes so far. Mostly because I know all the secrets and solutions to the puzzles... not sure if it'd be the same if it were an outside person playing it.

But, I did submit another delicious screen (of a new location!) to be added. IT IS DELICIOUS.

Game coming along nicely. Mostly touched up some dialogue and re-tuned some difficulty. Going well!

Got somewhat of an intro to the game now. Finally sheds some personality from these characters.
Started working on the next dungeon, inside the 'voidzone'. :)
Also, composed the battle music for this game. It's freaking sweet!
