The starting point of a solid system

INTRO

This is an incomplete, yet still very useful crafting system instead of a game. There are the basics here along with the source files that allow you to take the system's 100 weapons, 250 armors and excessive amount of common events to add to your own game. You can mine everything from mud, coal and bronze to higher things like gold, rune and "addy."

DESIGN

The system is symplistic to add to your own game, although it is recommended that you use this system as a starting point.

GAMEPLAY

It is very simple to understand what is going on here, the game tells you what you need, and then you go buy it. All in the same screen (this is not a game, it is a system). Once you have the tools to mine, you go and break the rocks, collect the ore and repeat. With enough ore you can use the forge to make them into bars, then use the bars to make weapons or armor. It is fairly simple, easy to use and has some major depth including the need to be at a certain level to create certain weapons and armor. Mining ore is tedious considering that you need to break the rock, move forward, pick up the fragments and repeat.

PRESENTATION

Some spelling errors like "cancil." It is a little unclear how I level up with smithing and mining. Using the Esc key for more choices on what to make or what to mine is not the best way, but it works because it warns people they need to cancel to get more choices.

WRAP UP

Craft Maker is still a good system, even if it is a little excessive and poorly presented. Knowing how to level up or even being able to would have been nice. Perhaps in the next version there will be.

ADVICE

Some things could be simpler, such as when the forge asks if you have 2 ore each and every time. It could be simplified to tell you, for your 10 ore, you can make 5 bars or even ask how many bars you would like to make for your 10 ore. There were too many common events (168), and they can be condensed with conditional branches and variables or character names.
