Please Review This Game Demo

I've been sending private messages to ask for reviews for weeks to multiple people. I was sending private messages because I feel awkward asking for reviews. But you know what I have a great game demo here and I'm tired of it being under the shadow of its old reviews. But speaking of those old reviews let me quote one of them for a second.
NTC3
Such retrospection from the developer is impressive, and the people who played the original will probably note a few changes here. Still, a lot more work is required before I could reasonably see Nsala Sunset entering the pantheon of RMN's greats, which is what a game with its ambition should deserve.

Now since I'm quoting NTC3 let me just mention first that I thank him for his feedback and I thank him for leaving out the star rating since that was such an earlier build of the game. I respect him and his opinions.
Anyway, though I did not do everything he asked, you will see that I took NTC3's and kory_toombs' feedback to heart (which I do for every review, message and comment I receive.) A lot more work has now been done to Nsala Sunset and it is now much better. My two newest playtesters enjoyed their experience and I'm sure you will too.

Let me be clear, because I don't want misinterpretations. This isn't a blog calling for NTC3 to re-review (maybe I'd ask that when the entire game is done.)
No, this blog is to ask anyone to review Nsala Sunset because I'm proud of my game and it deserves a chance. It deserves more than 2 stars. If you disagree and think it is absolute dog shit let me know. I will listen to your feedback and try to make improvements. That is what I do. I care about your thoughts even the negative stuff. All I ask is you give my game a chance.

Should I have quoted Korytombs' review also? Ah well you get the point right? I've made progress on my game based on feedback. And want a fresh look at it.

Thank you for your time.

PLAY THE NEW NSALA SUNSET

Thanks to my new testers I am now ready to present to you all the newest version of Nsala Sunset. I'm glad I am able to share this game with everybody during Black History Month as I originally planned and that's thanks to the feedback of my play testers.

The game is now much easier than before. It has more areas to explore and new challenges to take on. The world is also more dense with things to do. Heart to Heart conversations now improve stats. New abilities like Warp, Absorb, and Repel have been added. And so much more has been done to improve the experience.

I hope you enjoy Nsala Sunset. :D
Let me know what you think of it.

Play Testers Wanted

Hello my friends, I could use your help.
My current playtester is very busy making her own game which is on a strict deadline so I need another tester. I would love to release Nsala Sunset during this month because it's Black History Month and this is an African themed game. So please if you can spare a little time to play test my new game I'd appreciate it.

Do not play the currently publicly available version I will make you an official tester and give you a link to the new test version through a private message.

Things I need to know is:
Is the game too hard
Is the game confusing and not clear enough in instructions
Is the dialog interesting

Here is what the game looks like but again don't download that old version.

P.S. The Demo will likely take you anywhere between 40 minutes to 2 hours depending on how much side content you complete. Also the dialog at the end of the demo varies slightly depending on whether you have certain heart to heart conversations in the game.

Music Changes

Hello friends just a quick update, The game is getting nearer to the testing phase. I only have a few more things I want to add to this new demo.

In the mean time I just wanted to mention that for various reasons I'll be changing a good number of the songs. I actually really enjoy the music from the old demo a few of them (not all) are very authentic songs but again I have my reasons for changing them both personal and partly from feedback.
In the mean time if you have the old version of the game and like the old music I'd suggest opening the audio folder and taking said songs.

That said I hope you'll like the new songs. Most of the replacement songs will still have the same mood except I'm thinking of having a darker song for the Zambarau Bush because in the old version it had pretty chanting of African girls. An argument could be that it creates a nice contrast from the rest of the music but the more I contemplate the African theme of my game I feel it makes more sense from a cultural standpoint to go with a song that is less pretty because nature in an African mind set is not a peaceful place like it is in a westerner's mindset. Nature or the Bush as its often called in Africa, is a dangerous place where Bush spirits can attack you. That being said, in the final game (not the upcoming demo) there will be a village and the village can and most likely will have a more peaceful song. I may also add a pleasant song to the Heart to Heart talks.

Anyway, I'm doing all this musical stuff right now so hopefully I didn't ramble on to much. I'd like to have this new Demo ready sometime in February, Black History Month, but I apologize in advance if it takes longer than that.

Oh and I also noticed that we got 100 downloads of Nsala Sunset thank you and I hope those who played the old version will enjoy the new (much easier) game even more when it comes out.

An New Easier Demo Coming Soon

Happy New Year everyone! For a while I was considering abandoning this project because I became uninterested in the story I had previously planned. So now I'll be tweaking the direction of the story. Unfortunately I may cut some characters that were previously planned. Anyway, as you all know I like to take your opinions into consideration, so much of what I'm implementing into the new version of the game is meant to make it easier for players since that if I remember correctly was one of the big issues. There will also be more interactive things in the environment and other tweaks as well.

Initially I was going to make it's release a surprise but since some levels are being changed, I figured I'd give you all a heads up in case you feel like trying the original version now because unlike with my Nsala Liberation updates, I'm likely going to overwrite the old version of Nsala Sunset entirely.

The version I'm working on now, is also a demo like before but a longer one with more content and levels.
This way you can comment on it before the final game releases.

Alrighty, have a wonderful New Year my friiends.

Two New Characters Coming in the Future

Work on Nsala Sunset is slow due to many other things I'm busy with at the moment.
But I have managed to decide on the names and designs of the characters I mentioned in the last blog.

Itiju was a woman who always felt like a man. When she admitted this to her husband he was enraged and broke her leg. She left him and journeyed with only a flimsy cane to support her in order to find a god who is said to reside in the Zambarau Bush. She hoped that this god could heal her leg and change her into the man she always knew she was.

Oriisii claims he's a god. He accepts Itiju's prayers and transforms her into a man. But, he can't seem to heal Itiju's broken leg. What kind of god can't do a simple healing? He's a rather odd one.

If you focus your affections on one character the other two may fall in love with each other for example if you fall in love with Nziru the two men might form a bond. Or if you choose a relation ship with Itiju, Nziru and Oriisii may form a bond.

I'm not sure when the next update will come but if you are new here and want to play the current demo, I suggest playing on easy mode. The current game is rather difficult and that will be changed in the next version.

A Transgender Character

As Nsala Sunset develops I hope to include two more characters who will be linked with the affinity system. In the first demo our bisexual protagonist Rawjal meets a young woman named Nziru. I will eventually add a male character and a transgender character. Transgender people are under represented in media. I hope I can make this character someone you will all grow fond of.
The names of Rawjal's two new possible love interests are still being worked on.

I'm currently busy trying to find a way to make a living. I am for the moment unemployed.
So development on Sunset may be slow. I apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for trying my game I hope you will enjoy the full version when it's complete. I will likely upload updates when ever the game has a significant amount added.
