Mainly because it's so over used. Kinda like Undertale. Loads of people love it, and cause others to hate it because they are always talking about it. It's everywhere, and people are getting sick of hearing about it.

Actually people hate Comic Sans not only because it's overused, but also how it is overused for things that don't match with it. Comic Sans is not a neutral font, I mean, is not like Arial or Times New Roman that are plain, simple and good for reading. Comic Sans is... COMIC (and in a very lighthearted and silly way).
Yet people make horror games, write love letters, and all kinds of either serious or just noncomical situations with Comic Sans. How am I going to take that seriously? xD.
