In Final Fantasy R you are a party adventures who have set out to enter the Infinite Dungeon and collect the 17 Elemental Crystal within, and perhaps confront the dungeons master Asmodeus! Final Fantasy R combines the battle and adventure style of Final Fantasy with the randomly generated dungeons of a Rogue-Like. A Rogue-Like is a randomly generated game, where they player has to explore a dungeon, reach the bottom, and escape alive. Most Rogue-Like give you only one life, Final Fantasy R generously allows you to save. All of the loot in Final Fantasy R is randomly generated, like Diablo and thanks to Yanflys wonderful plug-ins, so no two playthroughs will be similar!

Final Fantasy R attempts to be a similar experience to the FF5 and FF6 Ancient Cave Rom hacks, with a much expanded dungeon. There are many levels of the dungeon to explore, as well as many bosses to defeat and random loot to collect. The game is currently unfinished, but is in a playable state to fool around with. The final version will have more levels/items/skill/class, more of everything basically.

Features:
-Custom Party system
-Tons of monsters to fight and areas to explore
-A Randomized Dungeon that is different every time
-Job Point and Subclass system
-Multiple types of magic and skills, including Black/White/Blue Magic, Tools, Martial Arts and more!
-Over 100 character classes
-Hundreds of items to find and use, with randomized stats

1.3 Update!

I have added a small update today, adding a few features that should be nice:

-The Library, a kind of tutorial area where you can learn about the game and also buy skill books

-Final Bosses, You can now buy the Amulet of Yendor and use it to challenge for Godhood. This allows you to win the game. You will get a final score based on the difficulty of your challenge, and how fast you beat the game.

many found on the web if so you like RPG Maker mv Continue the adventure with the program, I though amateur and beginner in RPG Maker VX Ace, some tested XP and 2003 and played in the creation of games, but a little difficult, thanks for your help and read all my comments that you send thanks for the help and sorry for the trouble and thank you
Oh no trouble, I am more than happy to help! I will look into it, one of the Yanfly plug-ins I use lets you change resolutions and display modes or something. I'm defiantly going to be sticking with RPG Maker MV, and I would call myself a veteran of the RPG Makers. I have played with all of them, and MV is the first one that has all the right plug-ins and features to make the game I want.

I have a version of this game I made way back in the day for RPG Maker 2003. They battle system is close to finished, but the dungeon doesn't even have anything. I couldn't get it to do what I wanted with that old version of RPG Maker. I have played with all of the RPG Makers, 2003 and MV are the only ones with the side view Final Fantasy battle style, the other ones are Dragon Warrior style. I could upload the RM 2003 version if you want? But I warn you it's much less finished than this one.

Hey! I'm enjoying the game, but can't get too far in because it crashes whenever I level up. Could you fix this?

I've looked into this, and I can reproduce this bug in v0.97, but after I updated all of the Yanfly plug-ins it seems to have stopped. This means it should be fixed in the next version of Final Fantasy R :)
If you're going to do an update, please take these into consideration; it's really been giving me a hard time:

1. Save points - please make them on every other floor. It's a pretty difficult game (#2 will explain more on that), and I hate spedning hours just to have to start from the beginning.

2. Difficulty of the game - I don't know about the others, but Beginner is hella hard. If there's a way for you to decrease the difficulty of Beginner and Easy (maybe so that my party doesn't die every time a crow does Aero) that would be great.

3. Please make weapons unequipable, like the rest of the equipment.

Thanks!
Two of these I can address right now :P

1) Save points: You can actually save anywhere! Just go into the menu and click on Save. I was actually thinking about putting in save points, to make things harder, but as of now you can just save anywhere.

2) Difficulty: You can walk back up the dungeon stairs, and the beginner starting equipment will have respawned. You can do this as many times as you need, to make the game as easy as you would like. keep in mind though, the game tracks how many times you walk back up the stairs, for your final score.

3) I'll see if I can fix it with Yanfly equip core settings or something
Ah, sorry about the save points. I can't believe I missed that.

I just was wondering, how do you use Ki, and what is TP good for? I can't seem to find out anything about those two.

Ah, never mind the TP question. I found out what that does.

error found cannot read property 'canvas' of undefined TypeError fix it

Mr. Rutibex

I'm having this exact same problem as Snowqueen132 too, but i didn't have it with v.082 of Final Fantasy R, just the latest version I downloaded (v.98)
Are both these versions made with the same RPGMAKER engine? The file system looks the same, and menu/Fkeys are the same so... if it's the same engine, I wonder what the problem is. Hitting F2 on v.082, and v.098 both show "canvas mode" whatever that is. I can make a new game in v.082, but not in v.098 without the TypeError cannot read property 'canvas'....... error. Anyway this Final Fantasy game is really great. I like it better than FFXIV honestly, heck, in FFXIV I can't even tell I'm playing a FF game untill I randomly stumble upon a Chocobo. This is pretty much the only new FF game that goes back to it's roots. Heck FF1 was closer to a Roguelike, and FFXIV is cloer to Dynasty Warriors honestly. If I was employed, I'd donate to your development of this game.
About the only other "back to the roots" FF game I can think of is Final Fantasy Worlds which Squirrel is no longer developing, and it has a bug you where you can't load save games. Sometime down the road, you ought to copy the classes from that game, into this one, if he'd let you. It was an RPGMAKER game as well.
Anyway, this FF game is just plain awesome, and I'll probably write a review of it later.
I love everything about it. I love the way you start out in the overworld, etc. and can mess around there before you descend. Thanks for a good "back to the roots" alternative to current FF titles.
That Canvas type error thing is a real mystery to me, Ive been looking into it but I can't really find out what it could be. I'll keep trying though, it might be one of the newer plug-ins, and they get updated quite often so the problem could go away on its own.

Glad to here that you like the game! :) I always loved the NES and SNES Final Fantasy games, but honestly I don't really like the newer ones. I don't know, they just didn't seem like the same games once it went 3D (though I do love FF7). FF6 and FF1 were always my favorites, which is why most of the characters in FF-R are from those games lol

Mr. Rutibex

Ironically, there's a guy on the internet that tried to make a pie chart using Java and he got the *exact* same error:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/25404241/cannot-read-property-canvas-of-undefined
I was playing 0.98 and noticed a few bugs:

Nothing drops the Dark Crystal (I had to modify the JSON to make item id 240 drop. The Asmodeus room works fine though.)

In Evil Factory I'm not sure how I did it but it's possible to walk through the walls and then the character gets stuck in the walls.

Sometimes when dungeon crawling and using only the stairs leading down, the map repeats through the same pattern of maps over and over and you never get different maps unless if you use a stairs leading up.

If a monster that only spellcasts and does not have commands to use when muted, it goes into a permanent stopped state and poison doesn't do its per turn damage (The exception is if the monster is silenced and also paralyzed e.g. with Scanner tool. The best way to kill bosses is to use scanner to paralyze, optionally silence the boss, then bio blaster to poison, and then just repeatedly use scanner on it to have poison tick its health down to 1. Because of the 9999 damage cap and lack of attacks that go over the damage cap, poison is the most effective way to kill bosses.)
O_O wow thanks for the tip about the dark crystal, I must have forgotten to include it!

I am planning on doing something about the damage cap in the next version, but I wont just raise it, it will have to be a skill or an item or something.
