This will be a somewhat informal post for the sake of getting across a decent amount of information in a short time. Originally I wrote something larger but decided to cut it down entirely as I find no matter how detailed I am someone will punish me for some benign thing I say.
I've been making games for ten years and my childhood dream was to make video games for a living. However, I'm given an industry that is largely influenced by what is popular than what is good. What is sliced into DLC than what is whole. What is heralded by the media and what is scorned.
I've been on Steam Greenlight for 4+ years. I could of cheated to get onto Steam like apparently so many other developers have. I didn't and yet I'm still not support by consumers who purchased games from these "cheating" developers.
I'd get more specific but as I said no matter what I say I'm going to lose. It's how it's always been for these 4+ years no matter how respectful I am. I'd rather try to lose as little as possible but I'm failing at that miserably.
Right now, I'm working on porting My Name is Addiction, a visual novel I made about port addiction (and other things), to HTML5 for upload on sites like Newgrounds because nobody knows I exist. The biggest problem for any indie is getting discovered and without the gaming media reporting on you and your titles good luck getting anyone to care. Grass Simulator got more press coverage than me.
To me, this is all some big joke, and believe me I'm laughing.
If you wish you can download and read/experience My Name is Addiction right now:

Otherwise, I need to port over a bit more of it before I can upload a demo on the internet that maybe will finally get some buzz around it. If you actually read it you'll be shocked that it hasn't gone viral.
If you wish to support me on Greenlight:

If you think I'm one some high horse you're sadly mistaken. I'm utterly defeated by the last 4+ years.
