I saw Saw

If you want to make a horror game in the same vein as The Cube and Saw, you have my attention. An idea like this is a refreshing break from the usual rpgmaker game, but its a shame I cannot say this game is very developed. If this game was made for a 10 minute game contest, it seems like a poor choice of subject matter. You can't just throw out a rapid fire sequence of WTFs and tell us the plot has come full circle. Well, that is your right, but we won't buy it.
When you awake in n room filled with strangers with no visible way out, saying
"Where are we?"
"Who are you?"
"Oh no, Who the hell is THAT!?"
"Can we look for some way out of here?"
"Hey, What the @%#$ just happened!"
....is not news to me. That is nothing but the most primal of thoughts these people would be having. I hope you were not thinking there was any kind of shock value in any of the lines they said. If you want to call this a story, tell us something we don't know.
Dr. Shnuckus is a bad character because he had no personality and just randomly stumbled upon things. Maria was a bad character because she was passive and oblivious. Tommy is a bad character because he "really does not know what to say" or feel any sense of urgency warranted in the situation. ??? was a bad character.
The whole of this plot comes off as some sort of huge MacGuffin that tries to pull a sense of wonder out of nothing. In rpgmaker, I usually refer to this as "illusion of substance". The creator, being influenced by movies like Saw and The Cube like he was, did not seem to capture what it was that made those movies good. The booby traps and creepy atmosphere help make The Cube a good movie. The way it explores human nature in the most dire of situations is what makes it a great movie.
This game does not succeed in story, music, visuals or gameplay. It's been said before. Well, some say the visuals aren't too bad. I just don't think the room is detailed enough to be interesting, and I did not see much in the way of special effects. I have come to the understanding the creator did not intend for this game to be great or epic, that's fine. I just hope with this slew of reviews he will have lots to think about in future projects. Maybe we will see something positive come out of this criticism.

I played it. I wanted to give my take on this. I wanted to give it a score and this is how you do it.
Really, I only see too many reviews as a bad thing when most games around here have too few reviews.
Can't help those game's I did not play.

I like how there's 5 reviews on a 10 min game while some completed games struggle to get even 1 or 2.

Here's a hint. Short games are much easier to play through to write a review. Playing through crappy "complete" games isn't.
