After the preverbal scar that was left on my childhood that was the last attempt at making a Super Mario Bros. movie (that I actually had the dubious honor of going to the theaters to, along with my dad; poor guy), this latest announcement that a brand new “animated” Super Mario Bros. movie is pretty close to getting the greenlight has gotten all me excited about the possibilities of being treated to an actual “good” Super Mario Bros. representation of the franchise for once - finally! (And, who knows, maybe this will be the kickstarter to eventually getting a Legend Of Zelda movie in the future and other Nintendo properties if this becomes is a success, maybe even a Star Fox one.)

Avi Arad is going to be the one in charge of producing this movie, who’s done such films as Iron Man, Ghost Rider and the Punisher (hmm).

- This shall be interesting!

I don't even recall what the old movie is about. I can picture what the characters look like, but did I even watch the movie? This could be interesting.

I can’t even remember anything about the old movie other than that one scene when the cops ask for Mario and Luigi’s last name and Luigi just says “Luigi Mario”.

...Okay, this too, lol. :P

WHAT

The original Mario movie is a wonderful glorious cheesefest that is only rivaled by the likes of Dungeons & Dragons or Quest for Camelot. I'm actually a bit disappointed that they're making another one: If its even moderately successful, the old one will be all but forgotten. I really liked its exclusive status as the only Mario movie because it made it that much more special.

I'm serious. I watched this stupid flick constantly as a child. It was the lumpy seed that sprouted my love of the horrible and ham-fisted.

Good riddance to bad blubber, I say.

Besides, everybody’s been trying to forget that movie from the back of their skulls for years! Hell, I still want my money back from watching that asscrack.

I’m just going to lie when the new movie comes out to the cashier that I was scared for life as a child after watching the previous film and see if I can get in for free, due to pain and suffering damages and what not. (I wonder if that would work, lol.)
