STATUS

Any of you guys remember this that I was working on way back in November when I posted about it on the Whatchu Workin’ On thread?

Yeaaaah…I just kinda finished it today as of a matter of fact, hahaha…*sigh*

I can’t believe that this shit took more than three months to do and actually make it work properly, but at least it’s finally done and working like a champ. Now, in spite of all that (and after reading what just happened to yuna21 and her dilemma just now), I’m going to go back up all my stuff right now on my USB driver so I don’t have to go through all that shit again.

Now game making will be fun again, doing something new, and exciting this time! No more having to bang my head on the coffee table every single hour and rewriting the same code over – and over – and over – and over – and over…

…Well, you get the idea.

You guys ever had anything like that happen to you when you tried to implement something, like a special feature that you wanted in your game that took you somewhat that long to do? Did you eventually figure out, find a cheap, alternative way around it - or just scraped the whole thing entirely?

To be fair, I actually wanted to scrap all of that when it wasn’t working properly after the first month, but then I would have this big gaping hole in the upper left hand corner of the screen with nothing that I could think of it to fill it in, so I eventually just decided to buckle down and do it. I figured since I’ve already invested so much time in order to get that to work that I couldn’t just leave it be.

Anyway, thank god that it’s done now. Seriously, I never wanna go through something like that ever again.
