I thought that my ears weren’t deceiving me.

So last night when the Vancouver Canucks were taking on the Calgary Flames in Calgary during Hockey Night In Canada (which, BTW, the Canucks lost that game 3-2, god damn it), during the beginning of the third period, to my surprise, they were playing the Gerudo Valley theme from The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time. I can’t believe it! A video game theme playing…at a professional sports game!? SCORE!!!

Apparently the guy who plays the music at the Flames games also plays other video game songs too, such as the main theme from Super Mario World and even Saria’s Song! Saria’s freakin’ song! That’s amazing!

I hope other professional sports venues start doing this. Finally, my dream of hearing video game music at professional sports games are finally coming into fruition in a harmonious revolution for the ears.
