Maiden of Maia Review

It did only happened to him that's why I uploaded another version just for nhubi.
It's not an excuse if it's real.

Maiden of Maia Review

I have no problem with feedback. Just little heartbroken that's all.
I have taken note about the immersion part, spelling and grammatical errors and some other few points.

"to the point of disparagement"? did I say anything to offend you?

The battler doesn't have a beard because when I tried to put it, it looked wierd.
That's why I'm hiring an animator for the sequel.
Anyways, thanks again and will work on the sequel and probably remake this game on the VX ace engine with better graphics and all the points added.

Maiden of Maia Review

@Linkis Yeah, I'm not insulted or anything. nhubi does have a good point. I just had to defend some points of the game that I don't agree with.

I won't defend my grammatical error and spelling, since english isn't my first language. But good thing you told me that So I could concentrate on it more.

I will take the comments of others and improve on it. will probably do a remake of this game using the VX ace engine.

I haven't played the game yet, so I don't intend to comment on anything specific, but I can agree that talking to NPCs is (or at least can be) vital to the atmosphere. It isn't just about story-relevant hints, it is about getting a feeling for the world they live in. They are your mirror of the world.
If you don't want to talk to them, you just avoid them or skip it.

You may be right, maybe it does give more atmosphere to the game. Dully noted.

As the developer, the burden of conveying what "you are going for" is your duty, and it should be pretty clear just by playing the game. You seem to think nhubi misunderstood your game and your characters. This may mean that your storytelling needs work and you should polish character interactions as well.

This comparison doesn't really work when you DO have characters get new weapons in your game, you just don't let the player control which ones they can use.

This isn't good design. You might want to make them stand out in some way so that players actually know to talk to them. This is also a major contradiction in your goal of "why do you need to talk to merchants and town people that do not have any thing to say?" There are people that clearly DO have something important to say, and if the only thing separating them is the fact that the player has to watch to make sure they don't move, then that's a major design flaw.

1. Can you backlash the harry potter series from the first book because they didn't explain the backstory or professor Snape? That's what I meant. Didn't mean it in any bad way. I have mentioned it's a 3 part story ofcourse not all of the story will be explained.

2. I don't understand your statement.

3. If you played the game, They do stand out, probably should've made them more glowy or something. And it's not a contradiction. most people have nothing to say in the game. if you played Skyrim or dragon age. The NPCs are mostly repetitive or just uninteractable. Do you prefer I did the same?

Maiden of Maia Review

Thanks for the review even though the score is low.
Although I agree with some of the points stated I disagree with the rest in which you have unfairly judged without consideration.

1. Tha backstory is not successfully explained because it's 3 chapters. you don't expect me to unveil all the plot in the first chapter.

2. I made my game as a direct story narrative game. with side quests that doesn't take time and stray you away from the story. you're on a rescue mission and time is of the essence. If you're going to rescue someone, are you going to waste time fishing or travel to another town?

3. a question, why do you need to talk to merchants and town people that do not have any thing to say? If you noticed I didn't even allow the player to enter other peoples houses. I stayed away from the typical RPG style of random talking and House entering and looting. As an avid gamer, I find that a waste of time and memory.

4. As for your Characters description. You have all of them wrong. I never claimed they had hearts of gold. All of them except Aurora are Neutrally aligned. just like you and me. I didn't know from where you got that assumption. Their back story isn't fully explained because we are still at the first chapter.
and as for the 50's style description of Aurora, Didn't you notice how she developed into a stronger person at the end. again you judged her without even knowing her backstory.

5. I didn't give the heroes other equipment as all of them have a special weapon that they use. Did Legolas change his bow throughout lord of the rings? my point exactly. or do you prefer that every other town merchant sell weapons that are slightly stronger than the previous town? ala typical RPG style

6.As for the Ninja HQ glitch.. I left it on purpose for people to exploit. Guess you didn't appreciate it.

7. "go around punching people until he can reclaim his stolen weapon. It simply makes no sense and there is no justification given for this restriction, which makes it doubly irritating." uhmmm that glitch happened only to you. because I have set the event that when you receive Oyinuri the old sword will be removed from the inventory.

8. "Ah, heterochromia iridis, rare in the real world, de rigueur in RPG's." you don't like a thing that is repeated in other RPGS, but you want me to have the same gameplay as other RPGS?

9. "Aurora's lack of a weapon also falls into this category," She isn't a fighter and she never learned how to use a weapon. because she's a Maian. And they don't fight.

10. "Animation is a nice touch; I just wish the battlers looked like the character sprites." I hope that you say that in other game, Because I have made them matching.

11. "but they suffer from a bit of lag or perhaps a slow animation" Once again, only you had that problem.

12. "In addition you can't tell which NPC's have a quest/dialogue for you and which may as well be statues" I have mentioned in the game that most people that don't move have something important to say.

I appreciate you took your time to review the game. But I don't think you understood what I was going for.
Anywaysm thanks again and the issues that I agree with you on will be fixed on the 2nd chapter.
