[RMVX ACE] Fully drawn backgrounds done as tilesets?
Hello there, I have question regarding tilesets and the like;
Recently, I have seen screenshots of games, that use drawn backgrounds like this, instead of drawing the individual tile and individually placing each one. Would anyone know how to go about doing something like this? I absolutely love the concept and it appears like it would allow more artistic freedom. Any help is appreciated. :)

My Weakest Link
Firstly, I apologize if this is the wrong forum. It's always really confusing on where to post what.
Anyways, on to what I actually what I want to talk about.
You know how any game creator or hobbyist has that one weak link? Their own kryptonite? Well for many it seems to be more common things like art, story arcs, character development, or just plain laziness. But, when it comes down to me, I have my own kryptonite just like everyone else... but instead of having it being a more common one like art or story arcs, (Not that I'm great any of those either.) instead I struggle with the most basic form of writing, dialogue. Yes, the thing almost every basic human being can do.
I don't know why or how, but I never learned how to form pretty, little flowing sentences like everyone else. All the dialogue I write is choppy and unrealistic. Which is why it is my weakest link and it is also why I am posting on this forum right now instead of being productive and actually writing the dialogue for my current project Which frustrates me because I have been dying to continue working on it. But, because of my complete utter failure to do the most basic form of writing, I have been stuck on the most simplest dialogue for two days now. Yes, you heard me right, two days trying to figure basic dialogue.
If you somehow managed to read through my weird, little, rant, what is your weakest link?
And for those of you who can write those pretty little flowing sentences, care to give me some advice on how not to make my characters sound like they're from the uncanny valley?
EDIT: Thank you guys for your help! Finally got over the stupid dialogue I had been trying to figure out for the past two days.

[RMVX ACE] Thirst and Energy Bars Problem
I'm sorry for asking another question since I've been posting here so much recently, but Google has failed me once again. Anyways, earlier today I was following a tutorial on how to make hunger, thirst, and energy bars. After some time had passed I was finally able to make some, but I ran into a problem when I went to test them on my project. Functionally wise they're great, but graphically wise, not so much. The bars worked and looked great when they decreased, but when I used too many items to increase either of the bars, it went through the border of the bar.
Example:
Anyone know how to fix this? I pretty much followed the tutorial as exact as I could and even double checked it to see if I did something wrong, but I couldn't find anything wrong.
Any help would be appreciated. c:

[RMVX ACE] Unable to import a custom sprite properly?
Firstly, I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I was unsure where to post sprite related issues.
Anyway, recently I have been creating custom sprites for tiny test project of mine, but I have been having difficulty importing them into RPG Maker VX Ace properly. I know how to add the sprite sheet to RPG Maker, but when I try to use my custom sprite, he just glitches out.
Examples:

What said sprite sheet looks like:
I think it's a problem with the way I placed the images on the sprite sheet, but no matter how much I try to space the sprites farther away, it still glitches up. Can anyone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong?
Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated!

[RMVX ACE] Event triggering, switches, and adding the player to cutscenes?
Hello! I'm a bit new to RPG Maker (started 4 days ago) and I've mostly got the basics down, but I'm having a little problem with certain events. So a little background first, I was planning to have this test project of mine start out with a cutscene where the main character (A.K.A. the player) walks into a room and then stops when he reaches a set of stairs thus causing a new event to trigger making another character (NPC) walk on screen and then have him introduce himself to the main character. My problem is, I have no idea how to properly do this. I heard I can do this by using switches, but I'm having difficulty wrapping my head around it. Can someone explain how switches work, when I should use them, how I can use them, and how to use them to trigger another event?
I've googled so many things and looked at so many tutorials, it feels like head is going to explode... But I still can't wrap my head around this.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated! :)
(Also I'm sorry if this has been posted before, I'm just really confused and my Google searches don't yield any helpful results.)
