Alacrity Mission
Thank you for your interest and compliment. We do need to reach that $40k goal in one way or another. So far we have been funding the game entirely on our own and that has restricted the rate at which we can pay for the assets we need to finish the game. Even if we do not succeed in our efforts on kickstarter we have gotten valuable feedback and gathered considerable interest in the project so far. Those are at least as valuable as the money we need.
Kickstarter would allow us to produce the game much more quickly. It isn't a stopping point, but instead a potential avenue.

This was by no means meant to be an advertisement. We are trying to get feedback from people and find out how much interest there is in our game.
Alacrity Mission is not a game that is developed with RPGmaker. We are coding and developing all of the assets including the art ourselves, so a submission would maybe not be appropriate.
Our goal was feedback. We have a lot of information behind those links, especially the kickstarter.

Alacrity Mission
Cowfrog Studios has been working on our first independent project, Alacrity Mission.
We have recently launched our online networking platforms such as Facebook, our own website, and are now running a campaign on Kickstarter.
Alacrity Mission is an RPG with a science fiction survival setting. We are using our own development suite. Look below for some image references.
Some of the key factors of interest about our game are the turn-based battle system which will use quick time events to increase combat effectiveness and the 20 playable characters who each have their own action skill/tool which can be used in a Zelda-esque style manner on the map. Plenty of puzzles and deliberately designed areas will create a horror survival scenario with a high difficulty that is dealt with in a Metroidvania style search for hidden components which will power up your team members.
We are working to accomplish two things. First, to get the word out about the game and start getting some feedback and interest drummed up. Second, we are seeking additional funding through Kickstarter which will increase our rate of production by allowing us to stop spending so much time on fundraising.
