DARSHEI'S PROFILE

I've always loved gaming and RPGs - so this seems like a nice place to get started in trying to turn a dream into a reality and career. I enjoy writing and I've felt games often are animated books that are more inter-active. You can tell a lot of stories from your wildest imaginations to personal impacts on your life.
RPGs are my favorite. I've been in our school's drama club and can totally get into many types of characters just by personal experience in my life. Many of these were tragic or negative but that's how I've also been able to tap into raw emotions and get into my characters. I've also done quite a bit of voice acting with my brother and we have made some really neat stuff.
Favorite games? Lets see. I love a combination of console games and indie games. Indies are more personal but there's great stories in certain console games. I'm sure if you've played Final Fantasy 7, Red Dead Redemption, or the Last of Us then you know what I mean. I also love thrillers/suspense and open world/open decision games like Skyrim, GTA, The Wolf Among Us, Hitman, etc.
For PC I like the simplicity yet depth of Five Nights at Freddys or the insanity of Postal 2. Not Portal 2.. POSTAL 2!! Got numerous compliments on my Postal Grrl Cosplay at this years ComicCon in San Diego but it took forever to get my home made 'weapons' past security. They literally asked, "What do you need ALL of this for?" and my smirky response was "You never know. Always be prepared." ;)
Anyway, I'm just starting to use RPG Maker VX Ace so it will be a while before my first one and I need to learn the system engine. Please be gentle with me as I am noob when it comes to this and freely admit that. Its also fun to play games here that people have made, write some reviews, and inspire me to do more with mine.
I'd love to make some friends on here. My brother and I are available for voice acting too. Please don't hesitate to ask as we both feel really alone and new to this even though we've done similar things in the past. Its just the first time I am showing anything to the public.
I'm really looking for someone who is patient and wouldn't mind taking me under their wing to teach me about scripting and coding and all these other amazing things I see people do and wonder 'how in the heck did they do THAT with RPG maker?!'
Anyhoo.. see you guys out there in the reviews and forums. ^_^

Side Facing Combat in VX Ace
Hello Everyone! ^_^
I'm looking for a way to have my combat with a side view and also to have the main characters do some sort of action based on what they are using; weapon, magic, etc.
I'm sure this isn't the first time someone has asked and I've been digging for an answer but haven't found it yet. I need both side facing AND action if possible...
If someone could post (for others besides me) an answer to this? That would be really great. Also, please keep it as simple as possible. I've had codes given before but I don't know where to put them or it messes with the whole game. I am such a noob when it comes to this stuff but I am learning.
You can send a message to me to, I just thought there were probably other folks out there who might be wondering about this too.
So many thanks in advance! ^_^

[RMVX ACE] Game Crashing
I'm working on finishing my game when I start getting the error mesaage 'system stack level. stack level too low'. This only happens for practice battles or trying to run the game with a battle at the start. I've put so much into it, please someone tell me this is something that can be fixed and how to fix it. Please L3

Hello RPG world
Hi!! ^_^
I'm never any good at these so here goes. Play nice now. I'm Darshei and totally new to this site and to RPG maker community in general. I hope to post some helpful reviews, play some great games, and mostly learn how they are made in the process.
RPG's and games with RPG elements always tend to be my favorites. I have a unique range of which games I like and which ones I don't and there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to it.
I do remember playing RPG MAKER back when I was a little girl and it was on the Playstation. I had no idea it was part of something bigger but I loved that game because of all the fun I could have with creating my own stuff. So I was happy beyond words to see this has been a series and maybe I could make something to share with others.
I'm going to college for game design this fall and would love to make it a career. Until then, please be gentle if I ask a question that's already posted and I missed or something dumb like that. I do read the topics and help files but I still don't know a lot.
When the world knocks you down, just make your own world. That's kind of been my motto. I can create what I want with my rules and my style. I guess that's what appeals so much about making stuff. That and playing other cool games, of course. Sometimes you just feel like you and another game designer might feel the same about something and its just weaved into a game.
That is a pet peeve of mine. There are people who just make games to make games. But most of the designers I know put their heart and soul into it. Like a work of heart. The game itself may be flawed but I get defensive when I feel someone did their best and they get ripped apart in reviews. There's a way to be constructive and not mean.. you know?? And if the creator shows effort and heart, I feel we owe them some compassion and even empathy.. especially if they are just starting out like me. Maybe they made a game to tell a personal story?
Anyhow, that's pretty much me. Thanks if you actually read this far. Nice to meet everyone. ^_^
