Designer wanted. Paid. RMVX

I myself am not a fan of Mortal Kombat or Killer Instinct, but if I was offered a job working on those games, I certainly wouldn't decline the opportunity. However, I see where you're coming from and can respect your choice. Thanks for your time, I'll keep on looking.

To answer your question, I was thinking of offering 300 to start.

Btw.: Paying for RM... lol.

Deals better results than expecting on someone to leave their life and job on the side to work for free.

After all this, we're going to find out his "paid" work is like $20.

Please don't make prejudiced assumptions, good sir/madam. 20 dollars is an insult to both parties, and I wouldn't dare to disrespect like that anyone who has the skills I want, especially when I have budget for this. You could have asked first.

Mechanics design is something I like to imagine I'm pretty good at, and is easily my favorite part of game design, but those videos are kind of terrible. I want to make games people will actually play, and I'm worried they won't play this.

The key here though is "enough". I suspect the amount you're offering is not much, given the quality of mapper you were able to find.

I did all the mapping, writing of the dialog, story plan and such. Please ignore the first video, I admit the mapping was just done as a proof of concept. What would you want for your services if I hired you to help me make the game happen? Regardless if people play the game or not, you'll still get paid. Also, what's exactly wrong with the mapping? This is precisely the kind of reason I want to hire someone, because I can't take care of all details.

What you are asking for is, in my opinion, one of the easiest aspect of game design to do well. Do you really need someone else to work on this? If you've never tried to design stats and skills and balance a game before, I don't think you'd have a hard time getting the hang of it.
Just set some basic numbers, play-test them, than make the necessary adjustments to suit your objectives. Repeat for the next act and so on.

Easy as it is, I don't have the time to handle all the aspects of the game, as the dialog is taking a lot of time. I'd rather have someone with the experience and confidence that comes from having some games under their belt doing it.

As for puzzles, we really seldom play anything truly new and different nowadays. The looks and presentation of puzzles might change widely from a game to another, but often the mechanics and rules remain the same.
Just play other games that feature puzzles and try to make similar ones.

That's exactly what I don't want. That's easy. Why copy and repeat what other games have done before?

The offer still stands. Anyone who can help me make this game happen, and has the experience, contact me at darthequus@gmail.com, or through PM here.

Thanks.

Your choice. I'll just go look for someone who'd like to get paid for their knowledge and expertise. Thanks for bumping up the thread, btw.

I'm not trying to stir the pot, just requesting to hire and pay someone to help me work the numbers to complete this game. Please, anybody who feels the confidence to assist with just another RPG, with a completed game or two under the belt, and would like to get paid putting their skills and knowledge to use, be so kind of contacting me.

You don't have to like the show. Just green, rectangular pieces of paper printed by the government that serve to purchase goods and services.

Thanks.

Greetings, I'll be quick:

I need someone who knows his/her way around VX, preferably with experience, and good communication skills.

The 411: This is a fan-made game based on the MLP: Friendship Is Magic franchise, non-profit, financed by me. Most of the mapping is completed, in addition to the spriting. Don't worry, I won't try to make you into a "brony". My approach to this is as serious and professional as possible, but with a relaxed atmosphere as well. Here are some (goofy and meta) videos showing the progress and showcasing the sprites and maps:

The story is already in place, happens in the middle of season two of the show. The player party consists of original characters to avoid messing with the official development of the Mane/main six protagonists. I am the producer/director/writer. I have a team of art designer, assistant mapper, musician and programmer.

I need someone who can help me design puzzles, spells, effects, stats; in general, work the numbers inside VX and make the game balanced and challenging enough. If you have a game or two under your belt, the better. Good communication skills and profesionalism are important. This is a non-commercial project, but I will pay you for your work, depending on what we agree. No time wasters. Deadline is one year from now.

Reach me at darthequus@gmail.com for all inquiries, as I check that one daily. I'm located in the USA, can and will pay you through Paypal.

Thanks, and hope to hear from you soon!
