[RM2K3] Do you think it's possible?

author=EFFERVESCENTWARE
Yes, it's totally possible!

The real challenge is going to be making the minigames fun and visually appealing.

Hmmm... I think I got that covered.

I'm making a game that will utilize several minigames such as a Pac-Man, Mario and I want to try to do a Street Fighter minigame. Do you think it's possible to do in RM2k3?
I would think it would be a lot easier than making the normal game.

I doubt that.

Speaking about minigames do ya'll remember the RPG maker 2k3 game that was made to be a DDR game?

PacMan, not difficult but to make it great would be tedious.

Anything platform you want done well, needs to be done using pictures. RM2K3 isn't great for this.

I'm inclined to point this out - if you are already looking to stretch RPG maker beyond it's designed purpose, why would you limit yourself to making games which have already been made?

I strongly encourage you to think outside the box and build unique mini games. The limitations of rm2k3 can serve as inspiration for this, rather than being a limitation.

The whole RPG maker engine is limiting. Which is something I enjoy. It allows creativity, to overcome the obstacle that is what it's engine is restricted to.

Thank you all for the feedback. It's greatly appreciated.

I don't know how it would translate into 2K3, but, the OP has me thinking about Heartache 101 - Sour Into Sweet. Which, granted, was made with RPG Maker XP. However, it's a visual novel at it's core, with a Pac-Man mini-game popping up every so often.

I'll check it out

I obviously agree but have you ever tried games that used rpg maker and wasn't an rpg? If so could you tell me how they were?
