They also have decent acoustics for recording too. It's a good enough alternative for people who don't have access to a recording studio.

car acoustics are the best acoustics. just have a statement for when your roommates wonder why you're heading out to your car to shout for half an hour.

You could always just cover your ears and go for the gusto. At least this way, if people manage to huddle around you and think you're weird for talking like a maniac, at least you can't hear them (or yourself, for that matter).
