Yikes. @_@ Thanks Liberty and yes, Kentona, that was exactly what I was thinking after the fact.
Marrend - Thank you. You are great. :]

Marrend - I don't suppose you have the following games, still?
Relic
Memories Neverlasting
Online Forces Redux
I get either an error trying to download them or the page is completely lost. Poor Relic, it looks so cute! :(
Edit: Excuse me if this is rude. I just noticed that some games which are now unavailable have "cancelled" on the side of them. I really should have looked at the page more clearly. :]

Liberty - I'll keep my eye on Notes of the Second Mellynd War all the same. Thank you tons for the recs. I haven't tried the Legion Saga series yet, no. I haven't heard of it either. I'm glad you brought it up. I'm hoping to find some games with character growth, too, and good characterization.
I have your playlist as well as Marrend's up right now and I'm going through them to mark the games. :] Thank you both!!

Oh my. Did I update a status or make a forum post somehow? Excuse me for my non-involvement until now. I hadn't realized I had made something others would respond to, and that is why the title is so unspecific.
That said, it's hard for me to actually -be- specific. I'm new to this site but I've long been a fan of RPG maker games and enjoy playing others' works immensely. I mostly play RPG/adventure/fps/social or stat sims. I always enjoy a great story or something emotional/emotion invoking, but I also played "Cat's Game" recently and reviewed it, as I found it concise and enjoyable even though it lasted a few short hours and had almost nothing in the way of character devel or story. I do play other types of games, but platformers and "space shooter" types require a "unique" or extremely engaging system for me to play them these days.
I hope this post isn't too long, and thank you all for responding so quickly. I'll add all of your suggestions to my "play list" as I think it's there for tracking games, but haven't really looked into it. :]
If anyone else has more to add, please do! Your effort won't be wasted!
Edit: Don't be afraid about the mature or darker themed games. I also like those. :] Also, I've played Romancing Walker before! What a great suggestion! It's like you already know what I want in a game. Romancing Walker is an oooold game but it was one of my favorites when I was younger.
Edit x2: Some games don't have a "download" button. Notes on the Second Mellynd War is one of them. But that sounds like something I would enjoy.
Edit x3: Fixed social or stat sim.
