<_<...

My profile's wall is made out of Titans!
That particular image isn't scary, but the first time I saw a titan on the show, I did react with some very wide eyes.
That's an anime right? Someone recommended it to me.
I'm not surprised, it's pretty good. I wanted to watch the entire thing after the first episode despite not being able to. (I need to finish FMA first, honestly.)

I love that show (watched 12 episodes in two days haha), and I lost interest in watching anime a long time ago! The episodes have some really good cliffhangers.

I don't think the image was meant to be scary since most of the Titans are not really scary, they're just odd looking.
duuuuddee lol

oh my fucking god, you and everyone else was not kidding when they said this show was AWESOME! :o I've just finished the whole thing the other day actually (jap dubs ofc), the music was great, the characters MADE you feel (it actually kinda reminded me of...an anime version of Love and War!), and the story is just. splendid. No dumb fillers, great pacing, though not entirely satisfied with the ending, the movie brought the issue to a closure I suppose. (...I'm probably even more NOT satisfied of the ending in the movie LOL but whatevs, poor Winry...)

Welp, that got long lol. tl;dr: I'm probably glad I've watched it now instead in my childhood, since it would probably be too "gory" for me or I wouldn't/couldn't appreciate the show (despite missing the "nostalgic flavor" everyone had).

xD
That's what I was going for~

And I'm almost done with FMA, so that'll be great. I wasn't expecting to take this long to finish it, but it's fine!
Hot damn, this anime is awesome o.o Just watched up to the point where the Colossal Titan shows up for the second time. Right in his face xD

Ok, the scene is set, the characters developed, now onto the action!
I started watching this anime the other day and my first thought was "Why don't they use guns? They obviously have the technology for it" and "How they don't break their spines using that spider-man gear thing?" also "How come those building don't fall apart with them pocking holes in them all the time" xD It doesn't seem to be the kind of anime that doesn't take itself seriously enough not consider those kind of things. What's worse is that I read someone saying that the world it's supposed to be ours but in the future, or something like that? Which doesn't help to my suspension of disbelief. -_- ...But still, is a better anime than most. I may keep watching it.

I also took a look at the manga and the drawing blown me away. It's quite refreshing to see a manga with a more "instinctive" type of drawing, with rough lines and certain disregard to proportions, perspective, backgrounds, etc. Dunno if the author doesn't have the experience to draw in a more "technical" way like most mangas I've seen, or if he's doing it on purpose, but either way it works.

I just simply cannot watch anime. Though I do enjoy the style~

Aww yeah~

@AE
LOL did they not explain them yet? xD Well, to answer your questions, guns wouldn't do crap on them (obviously xD) and breaking their spines do nothing since they're gonna regenerate anyways. The key point is slashing behind their neck then they're dead. To sum it up, after the biggest titan invaded 100+ years before, they got lazy and stopped training then "bam!". Soldiers were REALLY unprepared (I guess that's why the building doesn't fall apart since they didn't practiced at that time...)

I like the style of the manga too, but I don't like the 'rough lines' on the anime (also the animation is kinda limited anyways).
I think he meant that the humans spines should break using the gear. I guess people are tougher in the...future?

Do buildings really fall down if you poke some relatively small holes in them? Hmm, I had no idea :3 It's not like they keep vaulting off the same building. I would think they have more structural integrity than that.

How many anime can you watch without suspending your disbelief xD None of the good ones, I'd say. But yeah, they're giant regenerating creatures. Guns don't solve every problem, ya know.

I just have a few eps left, it's getting intense :<
Oooh right. Iunno, IIRC it's wrapped around their body and make use of their muscles?! IDK D:

Wait, whut? Isn't 13 the last one? ...What'chu talkin' bout' Ivory?
There's a new episode that came out today and it's labeled as "13.5", even though it's basically just a summary of the previous episodes. Why the fuck did it even came out today.
Just finished 13. Damn I hate waiting for new eps u.u
Up until the point Eren turned into a Giant the show was Ok, then it started to slow down, and now a summary episode... Oh, well.

Rant xD
-Well, sometimes I see them grapple from structures like bell-towers and such, which I imagine are more fragile. Also several years pass in the first few episodes of the series and I suppose someone had to be out there swinging around during all that time; So, at the very least I'd expect to see marks in the walls... Actually, for a town overrun with giants the place looks quite seamless: the rooftops look impeccable, there are no debris on the streets, etc. And they do those sequences with 3D! How cheap. =B

-Yeah, I've seen they wear harnesses(?) on their legs and such, but still: to see them cover such great distances in no time, how they're able to change trajectories in fractions of a second, and the forces at which they spin just seems extremely unrealistic to me. I mean, if it were its own fantasy world I'd have an easier time suspending disbelief, but if it's true it's supposed to be like ours and they make no attempt to justify that, that's going to be lame... Just say humans evolved to be more flexible or something. xP

-But the gun thing is the mayor issue. I really cannot believe that what a blade can do a gun cannot. Guns just aren't as cool as swords, you say? Ok, but how about having them as secondary weapons? They carry shit-loads of extra weight so that doesn't seem to be an issue. Or how about a dedicated squadron with guns? Or even just civilian volunteers taking on the smallest/dumbest giants from advantage points? It's just seems unpractical not to use guns under some circumstances... And yeah, I saw that episode in which they use rifles to blind some giants. but they make it look like the technology is obsolete and I can't really swallow that.

Yeah, yeah, I know. This is why I can barely watch any shows anymore... Oh, and don't even get me started on The Walking Dead. _-_
