Spikes Problem
What are the exact settings to make spikes kill you when they go up while you're standing still on them?
With my set up, they will kill you if you move while they are up, but if you stand still and they raise, nothing happens.

I know none of the animation options are ticked, but I did try them all. Also tried making it below and same as player. I think it's something more fundamental I'm doing wrong.

*Not kill in this case, cause I have them on transfer player. But you know what I mean!

Problem with Event Touc
Apologies if this has been asked before.
Is there a way to make event touch work like it did in XP?
In XP I could have, say black boulders doing a set path, which if they touched you, it was game over. It worked perfectly, the slightest touch and it was death. In VX Ace it seems they hit you, and if you don't move (or move away from the boulder) you're fine.
Any help appreciated.

Focus on Puzzles/Dungeons
Hello everyone, first time poster here. (I couldn't think of anything substantial to say in an introductory post.)
I will admit that I am a complete RPG Maker noob and just bought Ace a few days ago in the sale. Although I have had XP for a year, I only played it in short intensive bursts.
What I would like to ask is this. Is there anyone else who just enjoys making puzzles and/or dungeons, while ignoring the need for a story, game world or characters? Is there a market for that kind of thing?
Not only that, does anyone play games by people with no coding/artistic experience (or talent), because I invariably use the RTP.
My favorite type of game to make, and to play, are those games which just begin at level 1. There's no story or setup, you just advance through levels or dungeons (or even one big dungeon). Is there anyone with similar interests, or is making complete games the way to go?
**I know there are dungeon crawlers, but the few I have played in the past are beyond my skill level, with their use of scripting and original art. What I'm really wondering then is how far you can push the RTP for Zelda-esque puzzles and gameplay.
