JHALEM'S PROFILE

I am working on peace-promoting games that are not afraid to address new ideas about real-life in politics, health, philosophy and psychology. At the same time, my appreciation of RPG games is very deep and I plan to make a game that is groundbreaking as an entertaining game in addition to its powerful writing.
My Vision of the Industry:
Despite wanting to pursue a change in the industry, my games will be founded on very traditional and familiar gameplay systems rather than radical changes like Undertale. (Undertale is actually an inspiring game for all RPG designers and it has become an influence on my work in progress). I believe that the history of commercial developers traveling to new consoles with higher technology causes a tragic loss in experience that could easily culture games into true art. Narrative games tend to be great because of their limitations rather than freedom.
People who play a great game often want to experience more of the same game, but Megaman (and Inafune games in general) and most primary Nintendo games (like Zelda or Mario) are among very few game series that listen. Considering that the most popular game series rely on such a design, Indie developers are usually hurting themselves if they do one-off's or mood and genre shifts. This should apply not only to the games, but the characters - there should not be too much of a change in overall tone, even if a new sphere of topics is addressed.
Aiming to revert to a past social state, while rarely functional in politics, is the most powerful game design tool. Virtual reality is only good for social interaction or games where only superficial meaning exists and nothing accumulates or perhaps the radical new idea of work training games. Much of the pushes in console development have been aimed at emulating virtual reality as much as possible without having access to it. We could also argue that the military has been pushing for these new technological improvements since patriotism and military readiness is increasingly promoted or expressed through video games. The conventional gaming world has been aiming for an 80's science fiction aesthetic (veering on cyberpunk) without considering that it is out of balance and mostly impractical when complete.
