The fact that crater is named after an explorer that died in the pursuit of his goals does not bode well. Also whomever wrote that article needs to make use of a spellchecker. Ernest Schakleton is not how you spell his name.

i don't know, solely considering mars' distance and the fact we already have some experience with the moon I think it's better to start with it. It just sounds easier. But I'm no astronomer!
