are there people really seriously believing they removed scripting for rmmv? that's quite naive

Well it will be rgss4 I'm pretty sure we all know that so either way we've taken quite a blow to the resources to use when it first comes out with yanfly on the case though I'm sure things will be OK.
spoilers: It will still have scripting. It may continue to use Ruby, depending on difficulties they may have with how well it works on android/ios but I'd say it's a safe bet. On that premise, it'll update to a later version of ruby and the scripting backend will change again, like from XP to VX to Ace. There was a tweet from somebody that was posted in the thread that MX will support pixel movement and considering that was handled in the scripting side it'll definitely be changed. Noteboxes will still be garbage.

The whole thing I'm more amazed about still is that this is going to be working on ios. So yeah they will have to do some stuff with Ruby to have that happen.
hopefully that'll lead to a much needed optimization of the engine which in turn will lead to even more powerful scripts than what we had in vxa... so it's all a-ok!
