Orange juice. Lots and lots of orange juice. Up that vitamin C intake and you'll feel better. Doesn't magically cure colds, but you'll feel less like a zombie.
thanks, good tip! Just made a large cup of orange juice. Tomorrow i'm gonna buy some more oranges, there's only one left.

This is a good sign! It has to get worse before it can get better, you know! After four days of a nasty cold, I just made it to the obnoxious-coughing-that-medicine-won't-work-on-keeping-me-up-all-night stage.
In all seriousness, though, I suggest tea made from echinecea and rosehips. Echinecea's effects on colds and flues are well documented, and rosehips are extremely high in vitamin C.
