I'm really starting to see why so many people hate people. And all it took to open my eyes was posting a comment on a youtube channel. Who knew?

Youtube isn't people. It only THINKS it's people.
That being said, I don't work jobs with the public or intract with the public because I hate the average joe.

Never work retail. Your faith in humanity will plummet into the negatives.
Edit: And at least on Youtube comments, people are supposed to be dicks since it's the internet. And that kind of behavior has no repercussions. I have people threatening my life to my face where I work. It's LOOOAAADS of fun.

Funnily enough, I did work retail. It had its moments, yeah, but youtube comments are a whole other ball game.
Try being a teacher.
Middle/High schoolers are the perfect medium for one to get in touch with their inner rage. Most days/discussions in the classroom often devolve into Youtube-esque comment section environments. Many students will try and troll you face to face on any given day.

Nah, Youtube commenters are just complete morons. They're not like 4channers, who actually put thought into there trolling antics, which usually results into something that's hilarious. No, the commenters on youtube are prepubescent idiots who argue with each other over petty reasons and have no sense of tact or culture.
My favorites are when I look up some foreign folk music and all the comments are racist feuds where they tell each other that they hope their children drown in rivers of their own blood for their sins... sins which happened like, a hundred years ago or more sometimes.
Seriously, there are some Scottish nationalists that are still pissed about the Jocobites losing or whatever. Can hate be inherited genetically or something?
Most other YT comments are so poorly spelled and formatted that I honestly don't want to make the effort to make heads or tails of them. Probably for the better.
Its not really unique to YT, though. I'd say its a general rule that the more popular something is, the more inane its userbase becomes. The only accelerating factor is whether or not there's anything in it for kids. YT, RoosterTeeth, Deviant Art and such all have stuff that appeals to them (mostly video games for the first two, fan art for the latter), but I don't think there's much on 4chan and its derivatives for them.

Oh, I know that feeling!
Also, Liberty, what were you expecting, anyways? Youtube ain't no RMN.
I know, I know, but I thought I'd be safe with one, itty bitty comment about something. Apparently not. Now, if only YT would allow you to mute any comments from a specific video... :/
Poor Libby! I've totally been that one person on a youtube video who comments and suddenly everyone is like "WHY WOULD YOU SAY THIS ARGHHH".
I just didn't respond for the most part. I also know Youtube comments can be VERY bad especially on certain videos.

Yeah, when the video first showed up on my feed I was considering whether or not I wanted to even watch it and, well, I did. Then the creator posed a question which I answered in the comments and ... ugh.
I've just been muting those who keep commenting on it so I don't hear from them because I don't have all day to click little x's in the google dropdown thing.

'Who knew?'
...who doesn't know that YT comment sections are cesspools of bigotry and ignorance?
Oddly enough - and maybe it's the videos I watch - I only really saw people being idiots (like the firsters and deliberate trolls) before yesterday. Bar a few small instances on my own channel comments and a few other select videos, I hadn't had a run-in with the more... crazed populace. Especially out in force like they were yesterday. :/
It's a pity because I've seen some really good comment series' in the past - discussions on manga and anime - and had some neat comment games with others. Welp.
I just hate people in general. I prefer being alone in all honesty. As long as I have mates to just chill and have a beer with occasionally I'm good, much prefer to just do my own thing.
People find it weird if I mention that as I'm a pretty outgoing person, never been the weird unpopular type either. People just don't understand how I could prefer being alone, that's just me.
