A mapping event. One week a new subject, running for four weeks.
- Winners chosen by vote. A winner a week.
- Week 5 a free-for-all to start December off with a bang.
- Achieves for winners and participators.
- Maybe Week 5 could be every mapper gets one 'ticket' for a prize, and the winners of the last four weeks get a ticket in?

Thoughts? Ideas? Improvements?

Wanna see an event like this?

I don't map, but it sound like a fine idea for those that do, and will allow for some creative examples since the maps won't need to tie in to an existing game but can be a flight of fancy. I like it.

I like the idea a lot. I don't do much mapping, but having a theme every week (and assuming some limits?) seems like a great way to get creative ideas for maps. This sounds like a mapping reality game show :D
I think that's a nice idea! Much less stressing that creating a game in a week. It should be fun to craft areas and stuff. Though I was wondering what the event could be for exactly? Maybe someone could compile the bearable maps and put them up somewhere for the newer rm'ers to see and draw inspiration from. But that's just a thought on my end.
That's a nice thought, karin. Something like a starter-kit resource for mapping. Maybe, a community-created set of Sample maps that others can use in their projects?

Could always use more practice.
That sounds fun.

My mapping skills could use some practice. And if there's chance of getting Makerscore in this, better! :D

I'd be game for this. Maybe I could churn out some of the Wrym Warriors areas I was eyeing up earlier! Or put some maps into an active project! Or, hell, just make maps for practice!
Sounds like a fun, accessible event. I would definitely be on board.
I like Karin's idea too.
