I'm impressed with how they got past the security measures.

We're gonna need a bigger hammer...
...and a better captcha~ ;p
I've always been fond of the "choose which picture is the kitten" one.
Thanks to Shinan for his help too. He did a lot of the heavy lifting before I found out. ^.^
And I think GRS pitched in as well, so kudos to him too!
Phew, I'ma git me some ice-cream. X3

I only dealt with the initial attack of a whole three threads, the storm came after I went to bed. I can't take any credit for cleaning all that up!
We'll have to ask bots "are you really not a bot?" with the answer of "really".

Nah, just ask them something that AI can't answer or that only site-goers know the answer to. Bonus points if we put the answer in the information article that new members should read~ :DDD
What's that, you don't know the answer? Maybe you should reread the info article for newbies~ :DDD
What is the name of Our Lord and Saviour?

I'm sorry, I went to Lutheran services too many times to quickly think of the correct answer :(
It's people doing it, not bots. Anky upped the security to 11 - there's now randomised captchas on posting new threads as well as wait times for threads for new members, copy-paste activation for new accounts and blocking emails from banned members being used to create a new account. We've also been IP banning every spammer from the last few days.
The only way to bypass all of that is through human interaction.

Geez, I’m glad I’m not the one in charge in dealing with all of this. No siree, Bob.
Wait, why would someone from another country take the time out of their semi-busy schedule and post a bunch of nonsensical gibberish to a mainly English speaking site when nearly all of us can’t even understand a single word of it without the use of a translator? Bots I can understand why they would do this, but a regular person? That’s just stupid.
But, hey, it’s the Internet and everything that doesn’t make sense to me probably makes sense to somebody else, so kudos to them, I guess.

There are some sites which pay for forum posts, all you have to do is prove you've posted on a forum (a screen shot will do). Language isn't relevant.
Yeah. It's because advertising. There's a link to a site in there and they're assuming we'll see it.
