We have Sunken Spire coming out in the next few days which is similar in design with each character having their own skills and systems.
Awesome! How I can be notified of its release? I don't mean you having to tell me yourself, poor you =)
Edit: Forget it, just found the Subscription option! I'm a newbie to using this site just as much as I'm a veteran in RPGs--even though I've played a few RPGM games.

Also I think you're the only person who appreciated the fight option in the menu.
Really? But people disliked it or was it just not mentioned? I didn't use it much (mostly by the end of the game to farm Dark Matters), but it's an excellent idea, especially for longer games! Why force people who want to grind to pointlessly walk around when you could just have this option?

I'm not sure if I can fix it. Line 20 is:
if File.directory?(PROFILES_PATH)
PROFILES_PATH is "#{ENV}\\RPG Maker Online\\"
which is where I store the profile so it can be accessed by any game with the script rpg maker must just not like the foreign characters.
All you'll miss out on is the achievement system.

I'm not sure I understand what you said, but maybe the normal file is failing when trying to create that path?
When I open C:\Users, I see 3 folders with different versions of my name. One of them has the normal ô, another has a � in its place (with only a Big Fish folder in it) and the last one as a “ instead of the "ô" (just an empty "Microsoft\Windows" folder). Does it make any sense, or am I just saying nonsense? =)
I personally don't mind playing without achievements (as long as I don't even know which are they, I'm fine lol). But I hope this can help other players, too, I don't know.
Anyway, I've asked a friend to try the game, just to see if it's working fine. I'll tell you when he does that.
But the game will have to wait a bit, since I ended up starting another RPGM game. But thanks for all the trouble and I'll be sure to write a review someday!

Since I don't know much about coding and programming, I don't know what could've caused it. But I've seen those before (UTF-8), related to characters, like unicode characters and those that are not, and I think it's worth mentioning that, being from Brazil, I use a lot of different characters in my computer. For one, my username features an "ô".
I don't know what kind of information the game gets for the achievements and I know I'm probably sounding silly and dumb (not that I'm that smart lol), but I guess it's like going to doctor and tell him as much as you can--while it may not make any sense to you, he's the specialist and will probably know if any of that is important and what it actually means. =)

Hi,
I heard about In Search of Immortality through Humble Bundle and it came as a bonus. After installing it, I tried to play the game, but I always get the message:
Script 'OnlineAchievements' line 20:
Encoding::UndefinedConversionError occurred.
"\x93" from ASCII-8BIT to UTF-8
I've tried downloading straight from here, but I always get the same error and can't play. It just displays the Blue Coral Games logo, then the message above is displayed and the game crashes.
Do you know of a fix? I'm really looking forward to playing the game!
