Generica: The Next Generation

Generica: The Next Generation

I actually only played like 10 minutes of the first game, but didn't get that far. The story was interesting and easy to understand. You did a good job in the beginning. It got me wanting to play all the way through. Which the first game didn't do as well. Also the mapping is very nice. Are you combining the two games into one in the future? What I mean is the story continues once you finish Generica and you get to keep your party and stuff to continue the second adventure.

I will probably look at making the brutes a little less overpowered, and include some enemies that blind (to reduce effectiveness of pure fighters). Also, there are no plans to include a place that sells scrolls (part of the game is picking a balanced party!) nor is there plans for more powerful healing herbs or the selling of the renewal/restore herbs (which is basically the equivalent of an Elixir in FF games). Again, balanced parties!

That being said, there are elemental imbued weapons to be found later on that might help you out.

Yes those were very much needed to beat those ghosts that were immune to physical attacks. You also might want to consider NOT giving brutes a weapon that lets them attack twice, combined with impact nothing can survive.

I just beat the game? Well up to the point where it gives me a message telling me the demo is over and sending me to the game over screen. It was good overall. If I had to nitpick it would be that 4 brutes are way overpowered. The bosses didn't even last more then 2 rounds. Actually the only monsters that did last more then 2 rounds were the ghosts and shadows. I hope when you finish the game you make the monsters stronger or weaken the brutes. I haven't tried any other classes yet. Only because I knew this was a demo, so I picked the class I thought was strongest to blaze through the game to get a feel for it. Also is there a better herb you can buy in the future of the game? Cause I can only get better herbs from monster drops and chests. Also do you plan on adding a store where you can buy scrolls, for parties who are non-magic?

Can't wait to play the completed version.

Did you make all the graphics from scratch?
Yes, every pixel.

Wow, that's awesome. Did you learn to do pixel art from online tutorials? I'm guessing your an art major though. I have a friend who is an art major and he makes some sick sprites too.

It's kind of hard pulling off this counter-every-point attitude if you create these really obvious contradictions. If you're not able to explain yourself clearly, double the effort you spend writing your post to make it clearer.
I stated what I wanted to know here.

I'm not asking what engine to use to make games. I'm asking his opinion on which engine doesn't suck. Just curious what his standards are for a good engine.

Oh and sorry I wasn't sure of your gender.

This is kind of the wrong place to be asking that..

What engine doesn't suck in your opinion is what I am looking for making rpgs.
