Infinity 3 - Version 1.1 Released
Try using a conditional branch for the boat issue. In tab 3 of conditional branch you can set the event to only happen if you're in a boat. I think that would fix it.
Demo version 2.1
You're sort of right about the battles being easy. Most enemies were easily dispatched just by using Attack and Critical. However, I died in my very first battle against two rats. Why? I didn't know I was supposed to equip my weapons and the lamb skin armor. In fact, I didn't even know the skins were armors at first. At that segment of the game, before allowing the player to move on, bring up some dialogue implying you should equip everything. For example, a scene like this:
Merton: There are lots of wild beasts in this forest. We cannot evade them any longer...
Maria: I suppose we'll have to use our weapons then...
Merton: Right. We should Equip our weapons now before moving on, lest we find ourselves fighting creatures in hand to hand combat. Maria, are you wearing your lamb skins?
Maria: Oh, right, I don't want to ruin my outfit! We should put those on as well!
Really simple example that would fit in perfectly with the pacing of the game up until that point, and gives the player a clue that they should equip their gear. If you're extremely unlucky, it looks like it may even be possible to get jumped by rats before you even walk the few steps to the save post. When there's the slight possibility for a random encounter to screw you that badly, you should make it a bit more obvious to equip the player's weapons and such.
I did enjoy the demo though. I didn't get to the boss yet, I just entered the city and looked around. Not entirely sure what I'm supposed to do next, but I'll probably mess around with it a bit more later. One more minor complaint is that Maria seemed to be getting completely destroyed by enemies even with the armor equipped. Maybe I should have used the defend option more often, I'm not sure. Not a huge problem since she's the mage, but it was still annoying having her get destroyed by simple enemies like rats in the very first area with battles.

Bugs/errors
In the city in the trade area, there's a glitch that lets you walk up onto a ledge you shouldn't be able to access. Not sure what causes it. Its shown in the screenshot below.

Also, when characters attack, it gets displayed wrong. For example, "Mertonattacks." There's no space between the name and the actions. This is easily fixed though. In the skills section in the database, just add a space to the front of the action. For example, instead of it reading "attacks!" in the database, it would read " attacks!" with one space in front of the word attack.
Similar to that, when you use the "Critical" skill, it displays as the character using "Fury." Not sure if that's intentional or not, but I'd change it to displaying as "Critical" just to stay consistent.
I also ran into another glitch when I tried to escape a battle. All party members were alive and when I selected "flee," it failed. That itself wasn't the problem. The issue came up when the game immediately stopped letting me do anything and started to auto escape every turn rather than allowing me to pick an action. I nearly got killed by two rats just because the game kept trying to auto run and wouldn't let me fight them after failing to escape once. Luckily I got away and didn't lose any progress though.
As for the bug about not being able to run away when a party member is dead, if you send me a link to the script you're using I could look at it and see if I can figure out the problem. No promises since I'm not exactly an expert at complicated scripts, but I can try.
