I think original music is very important. Working with a composer or a group of composers gives your game a much more cohesive and unique feel.

I'd like to see a bit more credit given to composers - perhaps a best composer Misao (as well as best music for a particular game), since it can really do wonders in taking your game up a notch.

While it's not the be all and end all I think it's a part that's oft overlooked by many budding developers. There's composers out there who're willing to work on any project that interests them, so I think it's worth taking the time and scoping out someone for something that'll raise your game to a new level.
