Chicago got fired up as a fight broke out during a planned rally. They had to cancel it as a result.

... Good riddance? The clear racial tensions this is bringing up is a bad sign, though.

I read somewhere that regardless of whether or not Trump gets elected, he's stirred up xenophic opinions and racial tensions enough to to cause a significant post-election issue anyways, and I'd have to agree. The rise of the far/extreme right in several countries around the world is a bad sign for the future.

It always sucks when people are pigs. But it's expected that Humans will continue to hurt and hate each other. It's what they do best. It's all they do best.
Ugh, I saw this too. Not really surprised, but definitely upsetting to hear a potential presidential candidate promote violence like this.

It's funny hearing him pull random percentages out of his butt in the interview though.

That's pretty shitty. It just makes the protesters look stupid.

The funny thing I found in the article was the black/mexican girl that says she wonders where she will be deported. lmao what?
Is she a legal citizen? If no then what the hell, you should be deported, especially if she is inciting violence and hateful protest.

and my post while probably unpopular isn't in defense of Trump, but more disliking how these kinds of things go down. It sucks that protests have to turn out like this

Yeah, that's how hate works. That's how it feels to have your very being threatened by xenophobic bigots who would rather have you dead than share their life with you.

Hate is powerful. It's what motivates "society". Trump's success should be evidence enough of that.

My posts will probably be torn apart too, and I'll be made out to be some childish idiot. It doesn't matter at this point. I don't care what pigs think about my opinion on Human beings. It's just noise in the vacuum.

What's frightening is that racism and hate groups have found the motivation to move forward with their beliefs as a result of all this, and the number of people in this mind set is far larger than any of us could have imagined. Trump gave many of these people an opportunity to normalize these beliefs and behaviors that they've been suppressing for years, and it has exposed the ugly underbelly of American conservatism.

It's really scary stuff.

"Far larger than any of us could have imagined" it's only surprising if you don't try to piece all of these political events together or do any historical research.

The tensions present in America is definitely nothing new. Hell, this shit started to expose itself the moment Obama was elected president. The sad truth is that we never got over racism, and while the Civil Rights movement of the '60s was great for giving legal equality, the actual attitudes were never quelled.

We seriously never changed.

I'm incredibly glad the hate for Trump is real. For whatever reasons, he's saying incredibly terrible things, and we should be vocal about our dissent.

Prejudice and stereotypes aren't over, never were, and probably never will be. Just like there'll always be humans inspired to help others, there'll definitely be humans inspired to take advantage of them. But, it's something we can try to improve on - we can shift our beliefs and learn from our mistakes. We've been around for millennia, and it's gonna take the course of millennia to keep improving. It's gonna be slow and painful and made up of events like this one - people vocally rejecting ideas that are harmful to them and to everyone.
