My work on Soul Sunder today consisted of the following:

1) Booted up VX Ace.

2) Tried to make a simple map. Scrapped it.

3) Stare at the screen.

4) Shut down VX Ace.


What a productive day...

you'll get it back. remember that even if you can only drag a token effort out of yourself, you can always go back later and revise bad work.

A lazy day can be fun though! I'm not the best advocate of this as an occasional treat for yourself, but I think the point still stands.

We all need a lazy day every once and a while to recharge our creative batteries. I wouldn't let it get you down.

Nice to know it doesn't just happen to me.

Usually on days that I'm not feeling creative, I just work on polishing gameplay. Yesterday I couldn't even do that.

Oh well. Today I'll make up for it!

Somehow, I don't think it's going to work this way. I dunno. From my own experience, once the desire/motivation to gam mak dies off, it takes weeks for it to come back on it's own. If I'm lucky.

I refuse to let that happen!

I look to this article and this article here to help with that. Usually I can recover in a day. Maybe two.

My biggest weakness where I'm at right now is mapping. I can force my way through mapping to get to the cutscenes and, eventually, I'll be back to my old self.

It's so frustrating when you KNOW what you want to do, but you sit down to actually do it and just FREEZE.
