Okay I need a break from making games for now. I'd hate for my games to get bland and uncouth. So, tell you guys what I'll review -two- games every week. They will be released as soon as possible. When I play a game I make it my mission to dominate every map and explore/break apart the storylines. I will -not- sugarcoat my reviews. So, if you sign up be sure you're ready for a cold hard dose of truth as flattering or unflattering as it may be.

With that said.

Arc 2:
Chapter 2: An unlikely friend and an unwanted enemy.

With the betrayal commited by Terry and Hime to the A.O.B. Chaos breaks loose. Those who were thought dead are re-introduced in this episodic chapter. New allies emerge, old friends become enemies behind the scenes. We are nothing but pawns in the true chaos of the Mid Autumn Garden blossoms.

Rose/Shadow

Unique characters. They cause opponents to bleed to death even if they dont deal damage. Unlike poison, when they cut the enemy the bleeding never stops until the opponent dies.

Rose's Wolf Blitz boosts stats. It may take more than one Wolf Blitz to inflict the heightened status. Wolf Blitz will cause recoil damage in the higher levels.

Shadow is stronger against some elements. Fire being one.

Kel
=================================
Even holding back will mostly likely kill all her opponents in one hit. You don't need strategy using her, you can basically run through the whole level by hitting S.

Lilidya/Ophillia
=================================
Lilidya has stronger defense than Ophillia, Ophillia is overall stronger than Lilidya.

Ophillia will easily die against magic element attacks so be careful when you use her.

Ophillia can weaken/ poison opponents.


Michael/Miranda
==================================
They will help in pinch situations, Michael has a high crit rating and Miranda has the best buffs in game.
Miranda though easily defeated revives swiftly. Michael revives after a long cool down period.
You can kill michael/miranda on mistake so be careful!

Hidden secrets.

In EVERY chapter there at least five hidden unlockables. Some are easily found, others need a strategy guide to find.

Chapter 1: Terry/Hime's canon (Playtime 30 minutes +)

Mid Autumn Garden Chapter II Intro Video


A new story unfolds inside a complex series of events. Enter Terry and Hime, two A.O.B. partners in which have formed a unique bond through attraction. This picks up where Arc I left off, after the disappearances of the main protagonists of M.A.G.

Recap of the story
Arc I- Chapter 0

The player is introduced to Rose a contract wielding shadow walker. The story progresses from the A.O.B. headquarters into travel to the Martial Lands. The party is introduced to the stories antagonist an enlightened shadow walker by the name of 'Kel' and her contract 'Gabby'. After fending for themselves the party regroups at an inn.

Arc I- Chapter 1.

After Rose awakes from his coma with a tighter bond with his contract the party has to begin to make heads and tails of the A.O.B's betrayal. Within minutes Kel makes her second appearance, having murdered everyone in the checkpoint she exits. Lilidya and Rose are seperated and a new girl is introduced to the story; Ex- A.O.B. member Vadeena.

Having learned why Vadeena is helping her Lilidya goes to find Rose. After meeting up with Rose once more, she finds out that he has his mind set on leaving the party for good. Lilidya not accepting the cards that were dealt to her follows Rose deeper into the forest. She finds out that Contractor (her old boss) is there (possibly waiting for Kel) and destroys him.

Arc I - Chapter 2

The Arc's Finale. Lilidya makes her way past Lye and into Loki. She finds out last minute that Loki was a trap set for her party to destroy them there.. it is unknown the fate that befell Arc I's protagonists.

Rose:
Swiftest and weakest of the Rose/Shadow pair.
Rose is immune to poison/bleeding. Though he's weak, his
strength isn't set like Shadow's and can be stacked.
His melee attacks are able to cause bleeding.


Shadow:
Most effective if evolved through Wolves Berries.
He is also immune to poison/bleeding. His melee
attacks are able to cause bleeding.


Lilidya:
Weakest of the Lilidya/Ophillia pair.
Though she's weakest in strength she's strongest
against status effects. Like Rose her strength can
be stacked.


Ophillia:
Weakest against status effects/magic yet strongest in game
hands down. She's immune to weaken and dazzle.


Vadeena:
Weakest skill-wise, she has no attack skills.. yet she's able to play with
the opponents mind and use their ailments to her advantage. She is the only
character without the ability to see contracts or possess them. Yet she is
also the only character thats able to use different weapons/armors.

Unlockables:

Latisha
The weakest attack wise, strongest skill wise.. she has little to no attack strength
and is unreliable when it comes down to speed and power (when she runs out of SP). Yet
when she has SP she is one of the strongest fighters in game.

Chapter 2.

Michael
His girl-like appearance throws off his true strength. He seems to be the only human partner
that is stronger than his contract. His skills are one of the strongest self buffing skills in game.
His only drawback is that he can't equip any weapons or armor.

Miranda
One of the most powerful healers in game, she is immune to every status effect in game. She
also has the most powerful reanimation spells in game. She doesn't have to wait for allies to
fall, she can kill allies herself and revive them with godly buffs. Only problem is anything can
one hit her easily and she's so slow that it may not be worth it to use her without buffing her up yourself.


Mid Autumn Garden:
Chapter 2: Loki Prison

With Rose leaving the party Lilidya/Vadeena must become detectives to find him and his hell contract. Rose's sanity is breaking and Lilidya/Vadeena has a set deadline to find them.. all trails lead to one place "Loki Prison". Is the A.O.B. really finished with Contractor or is it just the beginning? The questions are answered in this chapter of Mid Autumn Garden..

Notes:

Oh GAWD Lest Aime Castle was a monster. 80- 90 maps and I am STILL not done. >.< I'll finish it one day. I promise. What ticks me off is that there are four other major castles in game <.< I DONT WANNA DO THEM.

Tips:
There are 3 bosses in Poroure's cave. One hidden, one optional, one mandatory. There are 8 hidden items in game.. some hidden in plain sight.. others only discovered when you look around the castle. There are one or two items that you can get after an optional event.

Enemies do drop items (sometimes at a low chance)
Soldiers drop soldier restoratives
The chicken drops restoratives of the health and reviving restoratives.
The wolf drops attack boosters
Mice drop Skill restoratives.

The Game World

Overview

Poroure': This is the home of the nobles, a monarchy that relies heavily on tradition as opposes to changing even if its for the better. In Harpine, Poroure represents the more elegant sets.

Ain muc': Home of the magi, though this place seems as a democracy it is run by the magistrate. It relies heavily on making advances, yet the occupants of the country are more content with nature.

Nivea: Home of the enlightened, though they excel in machines they've a militia unrivaled by the other countries of Harpine.

Oxa: Home of the dreamers, they're the most ambitious of Harpine. They're set on being the monarchy of not just Oxa, but, Harpine itself.

World Feature #1

War Campaigns. In the storyline of Nova Hiwind the player is given the option of fighting for a select race to extend the territory of said race. Battles in these campaigns are fought as in a strategy RPG.

World Feature #2

Missions. In Murial's storyline you are given a chance to extend your talents. Depending on your job you can either; spy on the government of whichever location you are located, assassinate politicians or high ranked (even lower ranked) persons, become a rogue that fights for money, or just remain a thief and pick locks as well as pockets.

The Physical World

Overview

Poroure
Sophisticated world, the inhabitants are called Neigi. They're hated by the other countries because of their smug arrogance. They look down on cross breeding with any other country.

Ain muc'
A more tribal location, the inhabitants are called Forbidden. They are looked down by the other countries because of the darker skin tone. They look down on killing for no reason.

Oxa
A rough slum of a location, the inhabitants are named Weish. They seem to want to do anything for power and an upper hand on the other countries. They live for the thrill of fighting.

Nivea
An organized yet, medieval location. The inhabitants are named Eishu. They focus on preparing for what may happen and yet advancing for the future.

Game Characters

Overview

Nova Hiwind:
A noble from an aristocracy, unaware of how to be free feels he is chained by tradition. He wishes to only be aware of how it feels to truly be in love. His father, a once benevolent noble and a quite renown leader is said to have been killed in war.

Sir Ken:
Sired as a teenage by Nova's father, Ken has served the nobels of Lest Aime ever since. Seen numerous battles, Sir Ken has aged well into an expert in strategy and warfare. Though he's always drinking he seems more down to earth than the other knights.

Lady Ky' lire:
Sired through Nova's father, Ky lire is the only forbidden as well as the only woman in the history of Poroure' to become a Knight recognized by Poroure.

Charles I:
Nova's father, not much is known about him as a person. He's renown as a leader with a heart of gold. His last name has been changed with his rule, from Charles Monroe IV to Charles Hiwind I. This was seen as recognition to his contributions to Poroure as well as Harpine.

Claire Hart:
Heiress to be wed by Nova Hiwind, her whole life has been dedicated to being refined for marriage into aristocracy. She seems hesistant to marry but upon meeting Nova her thoughts has changed, though not drastically.

Jean Sinclare:
A woman who seems to resemble Claire Hart a little to well from the eyes of Nova.

Murial Night:
A Forbidden orphan who was abused drastically as a child, her whole life she's been made an object through molestation and verbal abuse from her father. After the murder of her father she ran away eventually becoming an orphan.

Maurice Lon:
A Weish orphan he met up with Murial and was thought to be long dead. Maurice was and always will be Murial's only love.

Arshes Stile:
A soldier from the Eishu militia. He has been ranked overseer of the Dragon Flank, yet has taken leave to find traces of Aura.

Basil Pomel:
A soldier from the Eishu militia. He has ranked under Arshes by choice, though he is normally disgusted by Arshes they've remained on friendly terms.

Dorothy Saguna:
An everyday criminal who is in love with Arshes. She was once arrested by Arshes and never asked to be released.

Single-Player Game

Overview

It is an rpg with an adult theme.

It has aspects of a hybrid genre roleplaying game. It dabbles in platformer, shooter, and strategy genres.


Story

Victory Conditions

It ends after you complete the story. Players can go to a more extreme way of completion by finishing all of the unlockables, completing all of the missions and finishing finding all of the enlightened fighters.

Community Project (Real fun thing I saw on another forum)


I thought it was pretty nifty for the community game designers.


The mission - Accumulate together in designing a gaming project.

We would pass the game folder from one designer to the next by taking 'dibs'.



As far as instructions go (and these will be true with ALL Community Projects):

1. Download the project off of the website.
2. Expand the zipped compression folder titled "*Actually the name is pending*"
3. Open the expanded folder and find the RPG Editor
4. Add on as much or as little to the project as you please. (Although if you spent all this time downloading and expanding it, you probably want to add SOMETHING!)
5. Copy the improved RPG Editor into the zipped folder you download.
6. Upload it back onto the net somehow.
7. Post it in this topic under a new post, and I will update this post to include the new content.



Now, a few rules:

1. Keep the content of the stuff you add into the game to a PG13 rating at the most.
2. You may NOT edit or delete anything a previous member has added to the game. (This inlcudes maps, events, and anything in the database)
3. Do NOT add any scripts to the game. Individual scripts in event systems are fine, but nothing on the Script Editor. (Events are NOT that hard to work with, people!)
4. Do NOT change the starting position of the game to your newly created maps. It should always remain in the very first map. (If you wish to test and see your game stuff in action, then you can change the starting position temporarily. But remember to change it back to it's original spot in the first map!)
5. You MAY add resources to the game. (But if they are from another site, be sure to say which site whenever you post the added content in the game.
6. Before you submit the added content to this thread, try as hard as you can to get rid of bugs and glitches you might find. (At least enough so that people can get through your portion of the game)
7. Once you post your added content to this thread, do not "take it back" and edit it. This will confuse people trying to work off of what you posted. (If you forgot to add/subtract something so important that progression past your part of the game is impossible, figure out one of the people adding onto the content at the present time and kindly ask them to add/subract whatever you forgot to put in for you)

It's actually quite a fun project to work on and establishes tighter bonds within the community. Since this is a joint effort we dont really -have- to try to make silver out of bronze.. but if you wish to, eh I ain stoppin ya.

I can come up with a storyline if you guys dont feel like thinking.. Im pretty much good at that.. and since Im not making an entirely new game its not that binding on my schedule to start things out with a new project if you dont wish to go through with a brainstorming session.

I kinda need a recolor of the carpet autotiles from red/pink/ and gold to blue black and gold trim.

RM Network, the Final Frontier! Gasp <3

To be honest I've never heard of the Misaos, Aveyond, or anything else (Super underground game designer) until I became apart of the gaming forums.. and holy heck has things changed since the olden days of RM2k *sigh*. Im really excited about the Misaos, I like playing the games thats elected for one they're super fun. You guys did awesome <3 Im actually jealous of some of your battle systems. Alas, Im rambling and I guess I should get on the ball.. I'll talk later after this synopsis of my game <3 k?


Warning: This is a rpg with mature themes.
Note from the creator: Skipping to the screenshots without reading the storyline will just raise questions. The game is in beta, and there will be many things changed in the future.. releasing a demo right now will just give the game a bad reputation.. since even I play games for battle and there is just the prologue.. with one measily tutorial battle. Sadly even the character art is still being improved.. so there is no definitive pictures on the game. I will however release the games theme music in a day or two.. depending on when the composer gets done with the boss theme music. The maps in the screenshots will be changed in the final product of the game.. just think of it as "concept mapping"

My game design goals

Fundamentally I am trying to achieve something that has never been achieved before. The world will be shocked at how we are using an existing engine with new art.


Common Questions

What is the game?

The game is an soap opera-ish role playing game. It's set in a time period which applies as medieval yet it borders on the steam punk genre.

Why create this game?

Im actually trying to set the bar higher for Rpg Maker XP designers. I'm a pretty wonderful novelist, and applying such a storyline will for the most part captivate the imagination.

Where does the game take place?

The game takes place in a place called Harpine. It's in a world similar to earth but it doesnt exist in this galaxy or universe. It's a fiction that masquerades as a non-fiction novel.

What do I control?

You will be in charge of a nobel in the first part of the game, yet the game has many different storylines. To further explain the player controls you'll have to read the below paragraph.

How many characters do I control?

In the first part of the story, your main protagonist would be Nova Hiwind. There will be many chapters of the game in which there will be other storylines. In Murial's storyline you would control an orphan avian master who fights with a flying bird named Starlight. In Arshes' storyline you will fight with a group of three friends.


What is the main focus?

There isn't really a main focus in the game seeing as there are different storylines. Murial starts out wanting to find the story of the long dead Nova Hiwind. Arshes and Party wishes to defeat Aura, the antagonist in this game. Nova just wants to find his lover, Claire Hart.

What's different?

In this game, it focuses on being more of an interactive novel. The world isnt in any serious danger, nor can a character surpass any of the human limits. The game focuses on being dramatic with a solemn theme. It's for those who would like to be moved by the storyline, rather than the features.

The Game World

Overview

Poroure': This is the home of the nobles, a monarchy that relies heavily on tradition as opposes to changing even if its for the better. In Harpine, Poroure represents the more elegant sets.

Ain muc': Home of the magi, though this place seems as a democracy it is run by the magistrate. It relies heavily on making advances, yet the occupants of the country are more content with nature.

Nivea: Home of the enlightened, though they excel in machines they've a militia unrivaled by the other countries of Harpine.

Oxa: Home of the dreamers, they're the most ambitious of Harpine. They're set on being the monarchy of not just Oxa, but, Harpine itself.

World Feature #1

War Campaigns. In the storyline of Nova Hiwind the player is given the option of fighting for a select race to extend the territory of said race. Battles in these campaigns are fought as in a strategy RPG.

World Feature #2

Missions. In Murial's storyline you are given a chance to extend your talents. Depending on your job you can either; spy on the government of whichever location you are located, assassinate politicians or high ranked (even lower ranked) persons, become a rogue that fights for money, or just remain a thief and pick locks as well as pockets.

The Physical World

Overview

Poroure
Sophisticated world, the inhabitants are called Neigi. They're hated by the other countries because of their smug arrogance. They look down on cross breeding with any other country.

Ain muc'
A more tribal location, the inhabitants are called Forbidden. They are looked down by the other countries because of the darker skin tone. They look down on killing for no reason.

Oxa
A rough slum of a location, the inhabitants are named Weish. They seem to want to do anything for power and an upper hand on the other countries. They live for the thrill of fighting.

Nivea
An organized yet, medieval location. The inhabitants are named Eishu. They focus on preparing for what may happen and yet advancing for the future.

The gain runs on a script that incorporates day and night mode. What happens in daytime does differ from what happens at night time.

Time

Time of day will also be an essential factor of the game events.


Camera

Overview

The game will have a camera angle that alternates during battle and cutscenes. The camera angle wont change during the time you're in town.

During close up it'll zoom in on the NPC or Player.
During far away it'll zoom out to a random location in front, behind, or to the side of the event or player.



The World Layout

Overview

The world is seperated into four countries. Poroure, Nivea, Oxa, and Ain muc', within these four countries there are many towns and villages. The landscape and enviroments also differ from country to country.

Game Characters

Overview

Nova Hiwind:
A noble from an aristocracy, unaware of how to be free feels he is chained by tradition. He wishes to only be aware of how it feels to truly be in love. His father, a once benevolent noble and a quite renown leader is said to have been killed in war.

Sir Ken:
Sired as a teenage by Nova's father, Ken has served the nobels of Lest Aime ever since. Seen numerous battles, Sir Ken has aged well into an expert in strategy and warfare. Though he's always drinking he seems more down to earth than the other knights.

Lady Ky' lire:
Sired through Nova's father, Ky lire is the only forbidden as well as the only woman in the history of Poroure' to become a Knight recognized by Poroure.

Charles I:
Nova's father, not much is known about him as a person. He's renown as a leader with a heart of gold. His last name has been changed with his rule, from Charles Monroe IV to Charles Hiwind I. This was seen as recognition to his contributions to Poroure as well as Harpine.

Claire Hart:
Heiress to be wed by Nova Hiwind, her whole life has been dedicated to being refined for marriage into aristocracy. She seems hesistant to marry but upon meeting Nova her thoughts has changed, though not drastically.

Jean Sinclare:
A woman who seems to resemble Claire Hart a little to well from the eyes of Nova.

Murial Night:
A Forbidden orphan who was abused drastically as a child, her whole life she's been made an object through molestation and verbal abuse from her father. After the murder of her father she ran away eventually becoming an orphan.

Maurice Lon:
A Weish orphan he met up with Murial and was thought to be long dead. Maurice was and always will be Murial's only love.

Arshes Stile:
A soldier from the Eishu militia. He has been ranked overseer of the Dragon Flank, yet has taken leave to find traces of Aura.

Basil Pomel:
A soldier from the Eishu militia. He has ranked under Arshes by choice, though he is normally disgusted by Arshes they've remained on friendly terms.

Dorothy Saguna:
An everyday criminal who is in love with Arshes. She was once arrested by Arshes and never asked to be released.

Overview

25+ musical tracks composed by Marius Masalar and MilkMan Dan

The sound is hand orchestrated with programs by my two composers.

The sound effects are a film quality type of ambiance, some custom others taken from the rtp.

Victory Conditions

It ends after you complete the story. Players can go to a more extreme way of completion by finishing all of the unlockables, completing all of the missions and finishing finding all of the enlightened fighters.

Saving and Loading

Saving can be done in journals, if your journal is full you may purchase another one. Journals can only be accessed in rooms, or on trips. Loading can be done from the menu or the title screen.

Extra Miscellaneous Stuff

Overview

Voice actors, and animators. The past animator that I hired, quit while waiting for my programmer/scripter to return. Meh, and sadly that is not cool.. so Im looking for another animator to replace the past animator. Voice actors are not completely full.. there are plenty of open spots but I'll change that after I hire the rest.

Junk I am working on…

Camera angles, camera angles, camera angles. Hard as hell.. but Im pulling it off. Im hoping to add more PoV by the finished version of the game.

Souuundtrack, Im adding vocals from a reknown female vocalist. Amethyste (google her.. type in Amethyste and soundclick.) Also Im already working on getting the resources for Legend of Harpine 2 underwraps. Its going to be a bad-ass treat for the fans, unlike part one instead of it being more refined.. it's going to be a dark, gothica feel to it. Just something to look out for. <3
