Just a random thought. Does anyone else feel sleepy almost all the time no mater how much sleep you get?

That's me, but it's mostly due to medical stuff. Still, if I don't get at least 8 hours of sleep a day, I feel totally dead, and even if I get enough sleep, I often still feel tired.
I can imagine the feeling. I get like 10 hours of sleep, and I am still tired most of the time, and end up taking at least one nap day. Not sure why. On days I have class, and my college game club I drink Mountain Dew so I that I don't fall asleep.
Mine's actually caused by a rare neurological condition where my brain "forgets" to breathe in the middle of the night (it's not helped by my tiny nasal passages XD;;;). I don't know what's causing yours, but hopefully it's not as serious!

After a while, soda and caffeine in general started becoming less effective and, more often that not, make me even more tired almost immediately. Even energy drinks wear off very quickly now.
Some tell me this is a sign of developing diabetes so I've been trying to limit those kinds of drinks from here on out regardless is that's what this is or not.

Yeah, I have the same problem where they are less and less effective. I've quit them a couple times, but I keep getting hooked again. >.>;;;;;

Too much sleep can be just as tiring as too little sleep. 10 hours is, under normal circumstances, way too much and can lead to feeling tired just as easily as too little.
The simplest way to fight against abnormal fatigue is to stick to a regular wake up schedule. Getting into a constant rhythm of sleep and awake time allows your brain to adjust its internal clock to better know when its time to sleep and when its time to stay awake. I say a wake up schedule rather than a sleep schedule because the wake up time is the most important step in adjusting the sleep schedule. The body typically learns when to wake up easier than it does learning when to go to sleep. Once you wake up at a regular time, your body will naturally get exhausted and your bed time will naturally follow.
I ordinarily get about 6 hours of sleep a day, yet feel perfectly fine once I adapted the pattern I described above. I'm no doctor, and I don't know your situation, but if you haven't tried it yet, this may help you.

Yeah, too strong reliance on caffeine can be really bad, and since you have enough sleep nicely planned it you should technically just do fine. 10 hours of sleep sound fine to me honestly, especially when yer out n about every day. But that's something you would know best.
In short, you can try cutting down your caffeine and see how it goes (too much makes you really tired), and if it persists, go see the doc.
Good luck figuring it out and hanging in there! Is a tough spot to be in.
There are a lot of other possible, but rarer causes (I for example had such a problem due to a fructose malabsorption, like an intolerancy, just not hereditary or permanent, which was solved by changing my diet accordingly immediately).
Strong vitamin deficiencies (like vit d or other stuff) can also make you feel more tired, and harder to concentrate. Too much stress over long periods of time can also make you feel exceptionally tired (working towards a burnout)
There's also other stuff, like thyroid problems (usually accompanied by abnormal weight gain, bad moods and other stuff).
Sleepy/tired all the time can have a lot of reasons and is a broad term. It is not normal though. Especially if you sleep well.
(also, fuck sodas and energy drinks)

As nova said, its about order. Time schedule is important as much as is a healthy environment. It's much easier to rise and shine in a tidy room with a knowledge, that you have finished everything what was supposed to be finished..
Thank you guys, and girls. I will cut down on caffeine, and see what happens. I'll set up a schedule too, and see if that helps. :)

The important thing is having a steady sleep schedule- especially a steady waking time.
This could also be evidence of a health problem or depression.
Caffeine can help you stave off certain effects of sleep deprivation, but no stimulant is a replacement for sleep, and sleep dep has a lot of really terrible effects on the body.

Start working out. The first week or two you'll feel more exhausted like it's backfiring on you, but your general energy store will pick up shortly after.
It also helps to dump any guilty pleasures you have, food-wise. Mine used to be potato chips and manga.

Why would a person go to a doctor when they can get advice on a game maker forum xD

This is my answer. When I was working a physically demanding job, my overall energy rose. But now that I sit on my butt all day, and more after work, I find myself tired even after a full nights sleep.
It doesn't help that I keep waking up, then sleeping more for short periods of time, instead of one continuous sleep. I read somewhere that it's best to sleep in intervals of 30 minutes. So for example 2h30 minutes is better than 2h15 minutes.
