Nice to meet y'all
Hello!
My name's Phil. I've been playing around with RPGmaker since RM2K, but I never really got into a gaming community in particular. So it's nice to be here with fellow game-making enthusiasts! :)
I live in Montréal, Canada. I studied a bit in moviemaking in CEGEP (the equivalent of grades 12 & 13) and started a bachelor in french literature, only to decide that my academic aims should rather be more interactive than passive. So right now I'm doing a certificate in asian studies (learning chinese and japanese) while figuring out my career goals. What will I do next? I have no clear idea.
Aside from trying to make freelance games, my main interests are gaming (I regularly play Age Of Empires III, SimCity4 and Neverwinter Nights and I consider Earthbound and the LOZ series as very high-ranked in my heart), movies (Kubrick, Kusturica, Van Dormael, Tarantino and the Monty Pythons are my favourite directors), photography (both digital and analogic) and literature. I also am addicted to webcomics (I read about 50 of them on a regular basis and 10 more on a random basis - I strongly recommend "The Order of the Stick") and apple juice.
I'm extremely bad at poetry, I suck at most games (especially FPS, although I still enjoy playing them), I have trouble finishing almost everything I start (be it games, books, studies), I recently became overly cynical about politics and my tolerance to alcohol is almost inexistant.
I'm currently working on a project since early 2008 on RPGmakerVX, and thinking I might go back to XP after (I find the new map system to be quite limiting). I'm trying to use the most original content I can, from sprites to sound effects.
Thanks for reading! :D
