Lenadia Castle!? There isn't any event remotely related to the airship anywhere near there.

Derp. I meant Lindblum. Sorry about that.

I was able to use it too. I remember we took off and the airship seemed be be going super fast, faster than even its regular speed, and Cid said "we're here" well before I was even in sight of the Life Shrine. The game set me down right next to the other airship, but I was still in the airship, if that makes sense. Also, when I flew back over Lenadia Castle, there was an airship there as well.

Don't know if this was already mentioned, but leaving from Sodden Depths sticks you outside Altair.
