FILESONIC NO LONGER ALLOWS FILESHARING

If you try to download from a FileSonic link, you will receive this message:

"All sharing functionality on FileSonic is now disabled. Our service can only be used to upload and retrieve files that you have uploaded personally.

If this file belongs to you, please login to download it directly from your file manager."

So, for those of you who have your games hosted on FileSonic, you need to re-upload it to a different host or file sharing service. You may be able to retrieve your game if you can log in and get it from your file manager.

MEGAUPLOAD HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN BY THE FEDS

Here's the story from the NY Times:

Federal prosecutors in Virginia say they have shut down one of the world’s largest Internet file-sharing sites, Megaupload.com, and charged its founder and others with violating piracy laws.

An indictment accuses the company of costing copyright holders more than $500 million in lost revenue from pirated films and other content. The indictment was unsealed Thursday, one day after Web sites shut down in protest of two Congressional proposals intended to thwart the online piracy of copyrighted movies and TV programs.

Megaupload.com has claimed it is diligent in responding to complaints about pirated material.

The indictment says that at one point, Megaupload was the 13th most popular Web site in the world.

339 downloads of the RPG_RT.exe (and counting)

The person who (supposedly) made this game:
http://rpgmaker.net/games/657/downloads/526/

...failed to upload the entire game because they didn't know what they were doing.
Instead, they only uploaded the executable file.

Since the exe is useless without the rest of the game, could somebody remove the download?

All of the links for the hosted games seem to be down

For every hosted game I try to download, I get this screen:

One Game, Two entries...

(...and No Downloads)

Twilight of Everleryn has 2 RMN entries for it,

Here: http://rpgmaker.net/games/1427/
And here: http://rpgmaker.net/games/1431/

Don't see the need for both. Recommend moving the Description and 2 Posts from http://rpgmaker.net/games/1427/ to http://rpgmaker.net/games/1431/ then deleting http://rpgmaker.net/games/1427/ and keeping the other one.

EDIT--

Found another one with a duplicate entry

http://rpgmaker.net/games/2517/ (Keep this one)
http://rpgmaker.net/games/2411/ (Delete this one)

Request for a new sorting category

Right now you can sort games by Date Updated.

But, Date Updated sorts them by any update made by anyone: this includes comments made in the Images section and comments (and spam) made in the Discussion section.

What's needed is a "Date Updated by Creator" category.
That way we can easily check for updated versions of games and patches for them, along with any interesting developments that the creator(s) post either in the Discussion or Blog.

Also, some creators have only posted download links in their blogs or in the section where they describe their game.

So, having this new category would alert us when download links are added to blogs and game descriptions.

It should also encourage game creators to post about their game more often to try and spur greater interest, knowing that every time they update their game page in anyway, it'll move to the top of this new sorting category's list.

And people would make use of this new sorting category if it's added to check to see if several games they have or are interested in have had new versions, patches, or info added recently.

Spambots now commenting on game pages

A Utilities Section would be nice...

Since WhoopA's site is gone (which I just noticed) I thought I'd upload his version of RMTool since it is the most current & best version. To my surprise though, RMN does not have a Utilities Section.

So, now I don't know where to upload this:
http://rpgmaker.net/users/SegNin/locker/RMTool_Pack.zip

(other than, of course, to my locker)

So, if anybody wants RMTool to check their RM2K/3 projects to make sure all the files that are needed by the game have been included--that none are missing--then well...get it from that link.
