Poke'mon Odyssey (tehcnicalities I need advice on)

Alright, I purchased RPG Maker VX ACE through Steam's Promo the other day and now I'm sort of starting to put together the ideas that will make up the game. NOW...

Here are some things I have problem/need help.

IMAGERY:
As some of you know (who've played PM) each trainer appears during the beginning of the battle, then they slide out of the screen and launch a poke'ball.

Is there a way to upload a JPEG or BITMAP instead of the pixolish photos that plague RPG's?

BATTLE SCENES:

I've read that there is a way to have a video play as the background during a battle, is there a way of creating a loop video to play over and over (what I'm thinking, is video capture a natural landscape and play over and over, as if the battle were taking place in a field, mountain, town, city, beach).

DLC:
Is it possible to make add on content with VX ACE? I'm thinking of releasing the game in chapters and would very much like to have feedback to help steer me in the dirtection I should take as I make the next chapters.

There may be more questions coming soon, and I hope I'm not posting in the wrong forum section.

Thanks.

Pokemon: Odyssey [Is it a possibility?]

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum, and new to video game design as well.

My question, or more like 'questions', revolves around a sensitive subject of RPG's.

Is there any way of making a legal pokemon game? Now, here's why I think it could be possible... (if you'd kindly)

1. It would be non-profit. (nintendo/gamefreak would have no monetary claim)
2. (continuing with the non-profit) It would be a fan made game, not as a claim to any other propriety, but moreover as a tributary to the series.

Now, I know that making a game that is trade marked is probably (is) frowned upon here, and I'm sorry if I upset everyone by this being that this is my first post. I do not however intend to give up trying to make a video game if this goes to the wayside, just however my ambition will be more luke warm so to speak...

Now, I would really apreciate everyone's feeback, I will do my best to explain the story, structure, and type of game it would be.

Signed (the always Frosty ;) )

Now, the story...

The player takes the role of a trainer, unlike the original series, where the trainer assumes a generic male or female character, the player chooses one of four unique characters with their own story, as well as their own pokemon pre determined...

The To-Be-Trainers are:

Isa- Down to earth, nature loving, hiker enthusiast.
Female. 12. Short to Medium height. Thin.

Dez- Surfer champ, fun loving, spur of the moment tyep.
Male. 13. Short to Medium height. Athletic.

Brent- Loner, smoldering temper, quit but eye catching.
Male. 15. Medium to Tall height. Thin to Athletic.

Sigi- New kid, easy to energize, full of emotion, eager
Male or Female (Still trying to decide, may become either choice). 13. Medium height. Thin.

Each of these characters chooses a pokemon from a young Professor Oak (which at this time, is just a student, and has just came back from an unexplored island, where he has captured several rare pokemon).

Isa= Bulbasuar. Dez= Squirtle. Brent= Charmander. Sigi= Pikachu.

As Oak is returning from the trip, a duo from Team Rocket (one of which we learn is Giovanni) who try to steal the pokemon for profit. At this occurance (whomever you have chosen) happens accross this event in which one of the pokeballs happens to roll out from Oak's bag near you, in order to save Oak you use the pokemon to fend off Team Rocket.

And so the tale begins...
